The Phoebus High School National French Honor Society was chartered in February 2007.
The Hammond High School chapter of the Société Honoraire de Français was formed in May 1999 when three graduating seniors were initiated.
The purpose of our organization is to increase the popularity of our common interests in French language and culture. We hope to add new members so we will be able to grow. By developing relationships and friendships, the organization will become even stronger.
The Société Honoraire de Français (French Honor Society) is a national organization, founded in 1949, and is affiliated with the American Association of Teachers of French.
According to the Phoebus High Chapter (Alpha Beta) By-Laws, members are students enrolled in French 2 to 5. Membership is based on scholarship in general and French in particular. Members exhibit leadership in French activities, and interest and enthusiasm for the French language and culture.
Our mission is increase community service in the school and outside of school.
Our Motto is “L’homme qui sait deux langues en vaut deux!”
Installation de la Société Honoraire de Français
Le premier installation de la Société Honoraire de Français aura lieu le jeudi, 25 avril 2007 à 19h00 chez Red Lobster à Hampton.
