PHILLY PRAISE WEEKLY
..........................(Proving that GOODNEWS is still news!)..........................
Welcome to the temporary webpage of (Philly Praise Weekly) We greet you in the name of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ! We introduce to you a refreshing change in newspaper publication. We hope that the information on this page encourages you to support our vision. We pray that our publication will be a tool for change in our community. We also request that you pray for us that we always allow God to be in control of all that we present to you, His people!
(From the Publisher)
As founder and Publisher of (Philly Praise Weekly), it is my goal to give Christians of all races, ethnic, economical, and denominational backgrounds the option of reading a publication filled with goodnews, human interest stories.
As we have seen with 2004 Presidential election coverage by television and print, we need a change in the way news is presented to the public. We WILL inform, inspire, and entertain, NEVER preaching at people or causing negative contraversy within the body of Christ.
We are truly living in times of great pain! I along with my staff intend to use script and images to edify the universal church body. Our vision is to use this platform to aid in the sharing of ideas between Christians and churches, in Philadelphia and the surrounding area, that might not otherwise come into contact with one other.
I, like my Pastor, Brian Jenkins of (Chosen 300 Ministries), believe that if we unite the body of Christ we will reach the world. I spoke of pain. It's the pain that we all know too well! Our little children are dying, we're losing our young men and women to drugs, violence, the streets, and diseases such as aids, unwed mothers and the rising devorse rate have destoyed the family unit in this country, and finally we have all but forgotten our elderly. Something is wrong and the world can't fix it! Don't you think that they would have by now if they could?
The answer IS Jesus!!! People hear about Him everday thanks to the perfecting of the sermon by our preachers and the help of modern technology. It is time for the world to SEE Jesus. He is not dead!!! This is your newspaper. Join with us to use it to congradulate one another's successes, encourage our children, and support the endeavours of other churches in the body. United we can change our community. It's time for us to take what we learn in church on Sunday out into the hedges and highways. Did not Jesus spend more time among the common man than the temple elite? Come, let's be more like Jesus and watch what happens. There is a great big world out there and many are waiting for us to introduce them to the one that can save them!!!
Sincerely, David A. Thomas

(From the Director of Visual/Art department)
It is the goal of my staff and myself to capture pristine and profound images, using them in modern and creative ways to promote social awareness and spiritual renewal. We want to inspire positive change within the core readership of this contemporary faith-based publication, (PHILLY PRAISE WEEKLY).
With visual display, we will celebrate in endless color and vivid clarity the trials and triumphs of lives committed to Jesus, faith, and praise.
It is the primary assignment of this department to document the birth of a dream, it's visionary publisher, God's people, and the publication the dreamer unselfishly turned into their voice!!!
Hopefully along with the publisher we will move atheistic and pessimistic mountains with our tools of pens and lenses, giving the public a new multi-cultural vision via this optical opera we call (PHILLY PRAISE WEEKLY)!
Sincerely, Mingo Sola
(From the Director of the Fiction/Fun department)
It is the goal of this department to infuse fun into this publication. It is not my belief that we, as Christians, have to be serious all the time. I beleive that a sence of humor, is a gift given from God.
To start, this department will introduce you, the reader, to the (Christains) a racially integrated, somewhat disfunctional, and always funny cartoon family. They will sometimes just humor us and other times deal with real life issues that families deal with everyday. We hope that they will help Christian families to find new and creative ways to deal with the issues that sometimes arise in our homes.
Unlike most newspaper cartoons there will not be a new story line each week. This toon will be set up like a television sitcom with an ongoing story-line that follows in real time with our lives. You may even, at times, see current events in the story-line.
This department will offer crossword puzzles, riddles, trivia and word searchers for the reader's entertainment. Poetry and short stories will also be featured. Through words and drawings we hope to entertain, encourage, and educate at the same time.
Sincerely, James Lemar

This will be done as a public service.

I believe that there are people that work for the city that have been doing great things for the community and this space is also to be used to highlight their stories.
