The Jackson County Health Department now offers an AIDS Antibody Counseling and Testing Program free of charge. As with all other Health Department services, this testing will be strictly confidential. Only those considered to be high risk individuals will be tested: Homosexual men, Bisexual men, women having sex with bisexual men, Intravenous drug users, recipients of frequent transfusions, Health care workers with frequent exposure to potentially infected body fluids, Persons in frequent contact with known AIDS infected individuals, Pregnant women with high risk partners.
Clinic Hours: - Walk-Ins are welcome but it is suggested that an appointment be made.
Mon /Wed - 9:00-11:00 am & 1:00-4:30 pm
Tuesdays - 1:00-5:00 pm.
Thur/Fri - 1:00-4:30 pm
Each client will receive an explanation of the benefits and limitations of the test as well as assistance in interpreting the result. Clients will be assisted to review individual high risk activities which may be altered to reduce risks. No follow-up treatment can be offered by the Jackson County Health Department. Clients needing this service or extensive counseling will be referred elsewhere.

MAPP is a non profit 501(c)3 agency. Publishes Michigan HIV News (onlinve version - Http://www.mihivnews.com) MAPP is one of Michigan's largest and oldest non-profit community-based organizations whose mission is the prevention of HIV transmission through AIDS education and safer sex information.
AIDS information display tables are availiable for conferences, Health Fairs, Night Clubs, youth events, and other occassions. Profession Speakers are availiable for schools, community groups, businesses and others.
Communidad is a program created to provide information, education, support and social activities, as well as foster pride and for the Latino GLBT comunities of the Detro Metro Area.
MAPP has a youth outreach program, including a private place on the internet where you can get information and news about teen sexuality, sexual health, and relationships.
MAPP also has a support group which provides Gay/Bisexual men who are not infected with HIV the opportunity to discuss dating, relationships, community health, PRIDE. Groups meet in four areas of the state. Metro Detroit, Grand Rapids, Lansing and Ann Arbor.

This group will be specifically geared towards Family members and loved ones who are living with, or are close to, someone who has tested postitive for HIV or AIDS. However ALL concerned individuals will be welcomed.
