BTS was formed out of a need to continue creating awareness and recognition of lesbian, bisexual, gay and transgender issues at Albion College after a 1991 "Celebrating Diversity" symposium that provided an opportunity to begin addressing such issues. There is a both a political function and a social funciton to the group and lead the campus in coordinating a series of events during "Coming Out Week" during the month of October.

Mission: Dignity/USA envisions and works for a time when gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgendered (as well as straight!) Catholics are affirmed and experience dignity through the integration of their spirituality and their sexuality and, as beloved persons of gGod, participate fully in all aspects of life within the church and society.

Dignity/Greater Lansing is a Catholic-based support and advocacy group for gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgendered people of faith. Dignity/Greater Lansing is a Chapter of Dignity/USA and have been meeting at St John Student parish in East Lansing since the late 1980's. A previous chapter, Dignity/East Lansing was also based there from about 1978-1984. a quarterly newsletter is available that can also be sent e-mail.

PRISM is a discussion and support group for lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgendered teens and young adults between the ages of 12-19 and their straight friends. The group meets every thursday from 4:15-5:15 and discuss a variety of issues, including dating, safer sex, romance, drug use, coming out to friends and family, harassment, discrimination, etc. We also occassionally have outings, pizza parties, and movie nights.

Gateway Community Services is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting the well-being of adolescents and young adults in the comunity. We offer counseling services, academic support for at-risk youth, a free clinic, and a teen shelter for runaways.
