A: Free Will is another name for God's Will, for it is eternally free, happy, peaceful, and joyful. This State of Mind is Perfection or Reality or Truth. The Will is free in perfect Oneness and Union, and this freedom is a characteristic of Spirit or Eternal Creaton, which is the abstract Light of unconditional love sometimes reported in "near death experiences." This Light is total understanding and love, or Oneness. God creates only Light and Oneness. Duality is the illusion of the ego.
Choice did not seem to arise until the "fall from Grace" that reflects the belief that separation from God is possible. This belief in separation produces what appears to be a dualistic dream-world of extremes and opposites: the time-space cosmos. These seeming "choices between specifics" which are the common "choices of the world" are a distraction from understanding that the choice of purpose in one's mind is the only meaningful choice remaining to the dreamer of the dream-world.
No one can serve two masters, and the ego's voice and the inner voice of the Spirit are as different in purpose as night and day. Learning to discern between these two voices, lay aside the ego, and align completely with the Voice for God is the goal of life, for God's Will for us is perfect happiness. The Voice for God leads to awakening from the dream-world of fear to the Reality of Eternal Love and Oneness.
Responsibility and accountability are always for one's own state of mind, and one's state of mind is produced by the voice one is listening to at any given moment. Behaviors come from thoughts, and a choice of purpose is a decision of which thought system one wants (love or fear) at any given moment. To awaken from the dream-world, discernment is of the utmost importance, for until the ego's thought system is laid aside, the mind will vacillate between love and fear and remain unaware of the Oneness beyond the perceptual world.

Q: How can a loving, eternal, perfect God ever be reconciled with a mixed up, changing, world like this one in which there is so much greed, hate, and deception?
A: This world is the ego's world, made by the ego, founded on the belief in separation from God, and bound by laws that God did not create. Another name for duality and linear time is hell. Another way of wording your question is this: "How can heaven be reconciled with hell?" It cannot. If God is real this world is not. If heaven is real hell is not. Eternal Oneness, Spirit, Union, Reality, Self, and God are all-encompassing and have no opposite. Love has no opposite. This realization is freedom!
You cannot reconcile truth and error, reality and illusions. You need only forgive the error or see all illusions as illusion. Forgiveness is the last illusion, for it overlooks all illusions and sees their sameness. In forgiveness you are free of the belief that you can pick and choose among illusions. What choice is difficult if it is seen to be between nothing and nothing. There is no hierarchy of values among the images of this world, for all are equally valueless. Spirit is valuable, for Spirit is of God Who knows not of images.
What does it require to remember God? Nothing in Reality. You don't need to do anything to Be What You Are. If the illusion of time still seems real, what is your only need? You know the answer.... The forgetting of this world, the forgiveness of illusions, the releasing of the past. Don't put your faith in the ego and its laws of economics, medicine, nutrition, physics, friendship, and its doctrines, rituals, and creeds that tell you that you must "struggle" to survive. Let go of the belief that you are confined to a body. Let go of the belief that you have a past or a future. Watch your care and concerns disappear from awareness. Behold, the blazing light of your True Identity in God, changeless and timeless. The truth is now, the present moment, free of all illusory restrictions and limitations. That is all.
Q: Everything you speak about seems to require a complete transformation of my mind. How do I begin such an undertaking?
A: Begin with the desire of your heart. Open your heart and ask for God's Help. Allow your mind to rest on the idea that your willingness, your desire for peace of mind, is your invitation to God's Help. All the Help you could ever need is available to you with this simple invitation. With this invitation miracles will be performed through you, your trust in God will strengthen and grow, and your fear of Love will diminish and disappear. When you welcome Love it will return to your awareness. Love is What you are and What Everything and Everyone is. Love is a Constant State of Mind. When you recognize this fact, you have remembered your Self and God. It all begins with the invitation for God's Help.
