21st Century Christianity
Greetings fellow seekers of truth:
This webpage is intended to be a meeting place of minds, which is our souls. The soul is: the thoughts, the emotions, and the will. Spirituality is something else, it's intangible to scientific research; nonetheless, our spirit gets wounded and needs feeding, yet these are confusing times.
There is a great spiritual hunger at large in the world, and the variety of things, beliefs, and practices offered to fill the void is staggering. These are days when our faith is being shaken; even when our conviction is strong.
This is especially true for Christians: few religions are as brutally attacked, by heresy hunters, as the flourishing Charismatic movement, or Word Of Faith teachers/preachers. Considering that the slanderers call themselves Christians, it's a sign there's spiritual warfare afoot. Christianity in general has a bad rap right now, and is out of favor for many who hunger spiritually, which if you've read the book of Revelation should not be a surprise; it's a sign of the times we live in.
This is a season in my life, when life itself limits my ability to regularly attend the church of my choice. My spirit is missing the fellowship with other believers. I'm sure that's why Jesus sent his followers out in twos; it's easy for the mind to wander into dangerous places when left to it's own devices. A good example of what I mean can be found in the Bunion classic, "Pilgrims Progress": an analogy of the Christian journey through life; through all the detour temptations his one faithful companion helps him stay on track.
It's so important to express what's in our hearts: to share our victories, and failures, with our spiritual brothers/sisters. We're called to minister to each other: to lift the spirit of the downhearted; to shed light on confusion; and to encourage damaged hope. If we can't get out for physical fellowship, we at least have the ability to meet in cyberspace. What an awesome time we live in.
