Dr. John D. Perry II
Dr. John D. Perry II, was born September 29, 1972 to Sharon and John D. Perry Sr. Perry is a present and life-long resident of the City of Jacksonville, Florida.
Dr. John D. Perry II has been in full time ministry for over 12 years. His ministry is a bi-product of being born of a lineage of Pastors and Priests dating back beyond his great-grand fathers on both sides. It was prophesied at the age of 5 years of age that he would be called and anointed to Preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
This prophecy was on its way to being fulfilled as Perry began full time ministry at the age of 19, at which time he held the position of church musician at Jesus is The Answer Ministries. After maintaining this position for 2 years God moved Perry to a larger and more progressive ministry at which time he would take on the position of Minister of Music. While operating as the Minister of Music at Truth For Living, Perry began to be overwhelmed with a desire to learn the word of God at deepened levels. It was this love and desire for the word that would prompt him to enroll at Jacksonville Theological Seminary.
Perry continued to serve God as Minister of Music while engaging in rigorous studies at J.T.S. At the age of 23, and while pursuing his degree in seminary, he received his call to preach. It was not until the age of 24 that Perry would answer the call to preach and conduct his trial sermon at St. Paul MBC in Lake City, Florida, Dr. CY Perry, Pastor.
Upon completing his trial sermon, God would once again move Perry into a position that would further push him towards his destiny as a Preacher of the Gospel. Perry began to serve as the Minister of Social Outreach and Development at St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church, Jacksonville, Florida, under the auspices of Dr. John Eric Guns. This position would be a major jump-start in Perrys call to proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ. While serving as Minister of Social Outreach and Development, Perry would graduate from Seminary with his doctorate as a Philosopher of Christian Education.
His accomplishments in Seminary and the spiritually qualitative service that Perry would give in his new found position would soon be used to place him in the seat of Assistant Pastor of St. Paul; a ministry with an active congregation of approximately 1500 members. This position would call for a continued commitment to teaching and preaching the many leaders and laity of the congregation. God was surely preparing Perry for an even greater move.
In 1999, Perry began to complete outreach efforts in low-income areas throughout the City of Jacksonville, with the philosophy that many would be won over by the kindness and love of Christ that would be exhibited via Voice of Life World Outreach, Inc., a non-profit organization that was founded and directed by Dr. Perry.
In 2001, Pastor Guns would release Perry, so that he could complete the ever-growing work being done in outreach, and so that he could launch his own ministry in the area that his outreach was serving. In 2001, Perry would establish Voice of Life International Ministries, where he presently serves as Sr. Pastor and Overseer.
Upon establishing Voice of Life World Outreach and Voice of Life International Ministries, Perry has been noted in several TV Interviews and News Articles for accomplishments that not only impacted his life; but accomplishments that have positively impacted the lives of others.
Perry has been the recipient of the Winn Dixie Foundations Good Citizenship Award, as well as the recipient of other awards from organizations that have a vested interest in the positive progression of people in general.
