CLEANING HOUSE FOR 2007
Last Week I threw out Worrying, it was getting old and in the way.
It kept me from being me; I couldn't do things God's way.
I threw out a book on MY PAST
(Didn't have time to read it anyway).
Replaced it with NEW GOALS, started reading it today.
I threw out hate and bad memories,
(Remember how I treasured them so)?
Got me a NEW PHILOSOPHY too, threw out the one from long ago.
Brought in some new books too, called I CAN, I WILL, AND I MUST.
Threw out I might, I think and I ought.
WOW, you should've seen the dust.
I ran across an OLD FRIEND, I hadn't talked to in a while.
His name is GOD the Father, and I really like His style.
He helped me to do some cleaning and added some things Himself.
Like PRAYER, HOPE, FAITH and LOVE,
Yes I placed them right on the shelf.
I picked up this special thing and placed it at the front door.
I FOUND IT- its called PEACE. Nothing gets me down anymore.
Yes, I've got my house looking nice.
Looks good around the place.
For things like Worry and Trouble there just isn't any space.
It's good to do a little house cleaning,
Get rid of the things on the shelf.
It sure makes things brighter; maybe you should TRY IT YOURSELF.
BE BLESSED AND BE A BLESSING TO SOMEONE ELSE!!!!
May the Lord open the windows of heaven and pour you out a blessing
that
you will not have room enough to receive it all.
Malachi 3:10.
May the Lord bless you exceedingly abundantly above all you could ever
hope
for.
Philippians 4:19.

Living Unselfishly
If you're serious about becoming like Jesus, pay careful attention to His words:
"Ask yourself what you want people to do for you; then grab the initiative and do it for them…give without expecting a return. You'll never- I promise- regret it" (Luke 6:31-35). Love, expecting nothing in return. Give, though they'll never say thanks. Forgive, even though they won't forgive you. Come early, stay late, invest everything you've got even though nobody notices. Paul calls this "the high calling" (Philippians 3:14).
And there's a reason: none of us would set such a standard for ourselves! If you think some people are just naturally more loving than others, think again. Love is a choice-one that costs! You can't love others while you're staring into the mirror or give to others while you're clinging to what you've got. Love will cost you your time, your money and your preoccupation with self. If you think you'll just go to church some Sunday morning, read a book or attend- 7 step seminar and turn into a kind of person we're talking about-good luck! There are no pre-packed saints; no "add-and stir" formula that makes God's love gush forth.
To be loving you've got to take up your cross, deny yourself and make others your priority. Remember the women caught in adultery? Jesus stooped down to reach her, stood by her under attack, then sent her home redeemed and refocused. Do you want to be like Him? Go and find people who are hurting, hopeless, and even wrong. When you do, minister to them until they're redeemed, restored and right.
That's living unselfishly.

“The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you.”
Deuteronomy 31:8
Take God to Work (1)
Surely God would only send those He could trust into enemy territory. Understand this; God cares about where you are. He has selected you for your work environment. He has already, or is currently equipping you. You wouldn’t send your child off to camp without packing his bags or making provision for everything he would need while he’s away. And God wouldn’t either. Sometimes hostile environments can be overwhelming- but by God’s grace we can thrive in them! If you’ll take God to work with you and keep your identity intact, the enemy will lose ground. Don’t let him keep you focused on everything that’s problematic: gossip, office politics, the too heavy workload, the too-low pay, the micro managing supervisor, the injustice of a system that seems to promote based more on who you know, than what you know. The danger is that you’ll lose focus on the discomfort of the moment and miss the blessings that lie beyond it. While you’re praying for God to change your circumstances and take away your stress, he’s saying, “If only you knew what awaited you. Your purpose and destiny are only moments away, and, though not wrapped in shiny paper, they contain all you’ll ever need to reach your goal and bring Me glory.” God understands us so well. He realizes our tendency to stay too long when things become comfortable, to lean on the arm of flesh. Often He has to trouble the waters so that we’ll reach out to Him in desperation, and as a result, tap into strength and success we never knew possible.
“I CAN DO ALL THINGS THROUGH CHRIST WHICH STRENGTHENETH ME.”
Philippians 4:13
Take God to Work (2)
Whether its doctors in surgical scrubs or firefighters in heat-resistant uniforms, proper attire is required to do certain jobs. And as Christians, we also have to dress for work. We don’t necessarily need to fuss with our outward appearance (although how we’re perceived can go a long way toward helping us achieve) but we must dress up our character by “putting on the Lord Jesus Christ” (see Ro.13:14). After all, we’re His representatives!
Secular society is confused about who Christians actually are. And these misconceptions are fed by our inability to step out into our true colors. Your workmates probably don’t need another sermon, they can get that in church. Your job is your pulpit! How you conduct yourself should reflect what you believe and who you belong to. You many protest that it’s difficult to maintain Christian integrity when you have to deal with backstabbing, unfair criticism and the misuse of power. Actually, we Christians are supposed to be at out best under pressure (see Isa 59:19). God’s power is released in our lives by enemy encroachment. Sometimes we just have to get more creative as challenges enlarge or intensify. You may have to step outside of the situation and remind yourself who put you there. Leave your office, take a break, or simply go to the restroom and talk to God- your real boss. God is very present in times of trouble, and learning to call on Him instead of falling into the trap of the enemy is what wins spiritual wars! When adversity and challenges come- as they surely will – remember this, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”

Expect God's Best!
Today's Scripture
"In the morning, O Lord, you hear my voice; in the morning I lay my
requests before you and wait in expectation." (Psalm 5:3)
Today's Word from Joel and Victoria
Our God is a god of "Suddenlies!" God can suddenly break an addiction.
He can suddenly heal your body. He can suddenly give you that promotion.
When you keep your heart open, expectant, and filled with faith, it
gives God something to work with. In the same way Jesus turned the five loaves of bread and two fish into lunch for 5,000 men (Matthew 14:17),God will take your faith in Him and turn it into the provision you need!
The enemy's goal is to steal your hope. He wants to get you down and
discouraged so you will give up and settle for less than God's best.
Don't be deceived! No matter how many disappointments you've
encountered, God can turn things around for you in a split second of
time! One touch of His favor can suddenly restore relationships! One
touch of His goodness can solve that problem you're facing today! Just
one touch from Almighty God can instantly change your life!
A Prayer for Today
God, each day I come before You with my joys, my concerns, my praises,
and my requests. I will wait patiently and expectantly for Your answer.
In Jesus' name, Amen.

Key Scripture: Galatians 6:9 Let us not become weary
in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest
if we do not give up.
A POEM CALLED DON'T QUIT
When things go wrong, as they sometimes will,
When the road you're trudging seems all uphill,
When the funds are low, and the debts are high,
And you want to smile, but you have to sigh (cry),
When care is pressing you down a bit,
Rest if you must, but don't you quit.
Life is queer (strange) with its twists and turns,
As everyone of us sometimes learns,
And many a failure turns about,
When he/she might have won had he/she stuck it out;
Don't give up though the pace seems slow,
You may succeed with another blow.
Success is failure turned inside out,
The silver tint of the clouds of doubt,
And you never can tell how close you are,
It may be near when it seems so far;
So stick to the fight when you're hardest hit,
It's when things seem worse, that you must not quit.

Key Scripture:
1 Peter 5:6
Humble yourselves,
therefore, under God's mighty hand, that he may
lift you up in due time.
We often worry about our position and
status,
hoping to get proper recognition for
what we do.
But Peter advises us to remember that
God's
recognition counts more than human
praise.
God is able and willing to bless us according to his timing.
Humbly obey God regardless of present circumstances, and in his good time-
either in this life or in the next-
He will lift you up!
