Gasoline portable ski lift and accessories can be easily packed into the trunk of a small car and transported to the place of installation by sled. The portable ski lift uses a new variable speed principal of lifting and can tow one skier at a high speed; the engine runs on the low idle and pulls the cable at a low speed until the skier grabs on. It then automatically switches to a higher speed. Once the skier releases the cable, the lift returns to its low speed.

SNOWDOME masterplan

1) I enclose a few photographs of the model, a perspective of an alternative finish and an indoor shot of the model.

2) The footprint of the building is 2.3 ha (247,570 sq. feet) [5.69 acres] and can be built on any flat location preferably to more densely populated areas and ideally on the parking area of a regional shopping centre as it has more parking underneath that can be taken up by the footprint.

3) The construction cost in Rough Order of Magnitude, is in the region of US$ 35 million.

The above cost would include the following:

• 610 meter long, 30 meter wide, 45 meter high (15 floors) indoor ski slope accommodating skiing, snow boarding, snow blading and tobogganing.

• A 240meter dedicated black run of up to 25°.

• Ski slope fully themed as a ski village with mountains, chalets and trees.

• Olympic sized ice rink for ice hockey, figure skating, speed skating and recreational skating.

• Small beginners ice rink for children's birthday parties, school and tour groups.

• Fully operational gymnasium with squash, aerobics, saunas, various classes and heated pool facilities.

• Number of restaurants and fast food outlets.

• Pavilion accommodating up to 5400 spectators at the ice rink which can also be utilized for ice spectaculars and music concerts.

• Ski shops and travel agency

• Ski and skate rental (hire) facilities and video creche for infants.

• Conference facilities with breakaway suites overlooking the activities.

• Office accommodation

• Hotel accommodating 100 rooms with a choice of "summer" and "winter" views.

• Parking garage for 1798 cars

• Bulk space to be utilized as film studios.

• State of the art security system with facial recognition, access control and smart card pay system.

• Accommodation for up to 15000 patrons including 1380 skiers simultaneously

• Total bulk building area is 9.3ha on a 2.3ha footprint

Also included are the following special items:
• Ice and Snow Grooming Equipment
• Ski Shop Sales Stock
• Ski Hiring Equipment
• Initial Snowbed (selection of technology by design team – effecting final cost)
• Snow Licensing Rights – If applicable
• Gymnasium Equipment

We can bring a 30 page summary proposal upon first contract and retainer.

In an ambient temperature of 12 to 15 degrees Celsius, two ice rink surfaces - one Olympic size with seating for 5400 spectators, and a second 2/3 Olympic size, latest electronically equipped gymnasium, abseiling, squash courts, aerobics, sauna facilities and a heated swimming pool will complete the mix. For those looking for a quieter activity, the restaurants and coffee shops give you the time you need to catch your breath. Then, of course, to round off an exciting day of winter magic, the Apres Ski - meeting your friends at a lively pub or around a log fire.
A ski and skating shop, offering imported equipment and clothing, travel agency - when the urge to test your new skiing skills becomes too great, ski and skate hire and, of course, ATM and secure under cover parking for 1800 vehicles - designed to accommodate 4x4's with ski racks, complete the dynamic make-up of the Resort. A dedicated access card and closed circuit television systems ensure that the proper safety measures are in place for your peace of mind.
Future plans include hosting international and local Winter Sports Competitions and Ice Extravaganzas with the view of televised coverage. Locally, skiing will be introduced as an inter-school sport.

Barry brings years of operational experience in the construction field. Having worked on many of Australia's premier projects such as Parliament House, Hyatt Regency, Hamilton Island, Ramada Renaissance, to name but a few.

Barry turned his attention to "Themed Environs" in 1989. Attention turned to Asia in 1993 where Barry introduced "Expanded Polystyrene" and "Hard Coat" technologies to Thailand during joint ventures on the Seacon Square and Mall Group projects and in China on the Grandlink, QingDao project. Since then many companies have embraced the technology although it is not always the answer.
"It is so important to take into account prevailing conditions such as: local labor, local laws, time frames and a host of differing rationale before making any decisions on choice of product." This philosophy is prevalent on all projects.
