"It was then that Delirium noticed that she had absentmindedly transformed herself into a hundred and eleven perfect, tiny, multicolored fish. Each fish sang a different song. And as she put herself back together again, unable for the moment to remember whether the silver flecks went in the blue eye or the green one, she decided that a dog would be a nice thing to have. And then it occurred to her that there had been a dog around at some point, hadn't there? A nice doggie. And she went off to look for it, trailing occasional fish ..."

i'm supposed to put stuff about me here, right? uh, i am 22. senior at the university of south florida. majoring in humanities. what this means is i barely have time to sleep, work or breathe. my life is basically devoted to my schoolwork at the moment. i am planning on moving to n. ireland as soon after graduation as humanly possible, whence i have hatched a scheme to get my master's in irish politics and history.
i love radiohead, nine inch nails, david gray, u2, black 47, genitorturers, lords of acid, basically almost any music available that isn't bubble gum laden.
none of this is riveting, but if you are here you do probably know me, so there you go.

i recently traveled with my college (USF) to Ireland. Below are some of the writings that were inspired on/by my trip. i was forced, so no way am i saying that it's good, but it's here all the same.
***

there is
a different culture
in each
airport
i've traveled in.

***

this boat,
i said
is just a duck
to Mother Earth.

***

i
have a fishbowl memory
where i keep
my heart.
when i awake
from a night
of diving
there is always gravel in my teeth.

***

there are a pair of blue eyes
that haunt me this winter
'i don't think we're anywhere,'
she said.
'and no one's coming to find us
we're lost to this
so we might as well
make the best of it.'

'if it's not exploding
then it doesn't matter.'

***

i never felt the need to be important
i never felt as though my voice
was the kind of equation
you wanted to solve.

we remind each other of something
caught between a ghost and a memory
caught between
a breath
and a second chance.

we remain brief
we claim aloof
is the choosen profession
for lovers like us.

***

i'd rather pretend
to be Morgan Le Fay
and heal your wounds with kisses,
then to seek without knowing
and never be caught growing
into the girl that nobody misses.
