Paintball For Your Life

"Paintball For Your Life" has been made to tell you how safe and fun the sport of paintball is. (Also, some of the benefits).

First I would like to say this: Paintball is not training people to kill or go to war, paintball is a fun sport that has been practiced for nearly 20 years now. The sport is still growing, so anyone thinking of joining will not be found the last person in a group who still plays it. (For example, remember when those Japanese card games like Pokamen came out??)

For the people who still don't understand, I put up a simple FAQ section:

------------------------------FAQ-------------------------------

Q: Does it hurt when you get shot?
A: Other than a small sting, it will not hurt. More over, it depends on WHERE you get shot. The sting can and will last for no more than 5 seconds. Registered fields always keep the FPS (feet per second) of the marker at or lower than 300. This way, it is safer.

Q: Is the sport expensive?
A: Paintball is sadly a really expensive sport. Most of the money is put into buying paint. If you're short on cash, geta pump-action marker. They are cheap and simple to maintain, not to mention they don't suck up alot of paint like the full-auto markers.

Q: I noticed you said 'marker' alot. What is that?
A: We paintballers don't like to say 'guns'. So instead, we call them markers. The marker is the actual 'gun' itself.

Q: Do I need anything on my face?
A: ALL PAINTBALLERS MUST WEAR GOGGLES AND FACE MASKS. This is by far THE MOST importent peice of equipment you can get. I really don't want to admit this, but some people are stupid enough to play without goggles. Next thing you know, they're in the hospital with the docters trying to save their eyesight.
ALWAYS. ALWAYS WEAR YOUR GOGGLES.

Q: How can this sport benefit me?
A: Fun is one thing. A famous motto of paintball is " Paintball. If you're not having fun, you're doing something wrong." Also, paintball can get you alot of cash. Tournaments open nation wide where teams compete for money, fame, and girls.
Alot of practice can get you along way.

Q: What is the best marker for a new player?
A: Aside from pump markers, you can also get one of the best and renowned markers in the world: A Tippmann. Tippmanns are semi-auto (one shot for every trigger pull) and are near impossible to break. Easy maintenence has also proven this fella' worthy as a first marker.

Q: What should I wear when I play?
A: Anything that suits you. If you are a beginner and still can't stand to get shot, wear thick layers. (maybe two sweatshirts with a cotton shirt underneath). And if you are used to getting shot, anything that covers bare skin will do.
This is actually a really tough question to answer though. Different parts of the nation/world have different weather. A word of advice: DRESS ACCORDINGLY TO THE WEATHER. Just be sure not to put on to much or to little because you can either get a stroke, or freeze yourself.

Q: My marker is really inaccurate, what should I do?
A: Accuracy depends on the marker, CO2, the bolts, and whether or not the barrel is a good quality. Markers tend to have bad internals that don't align right with the rest of the moving parts, such as the bolts. The bolts can be to hard and go to slow so the ball will be forced out with greater speed and the trajectory will be messed up. CO2 can fluctuate on a regular basis. What this means is sometimes the ball will be hit harder or softer, depending on how much CO2 comes out. Buying N2 will reduce this by more than 90%. And finally, the barrels. Barrels might have bad insides that scratch and roll the ball everywhere when the ball is coming out. Also, gunk (paintball goo) can be stuck and mess up the balls' path. Carry a squeegie with you and you should be fine. Also check bore sizes of paint. What this is is the paint size compared to the barrel size. If the paintball is too big, it will pop in the barrel. If the ball is too small, it will roll around in the barrel and mess up the trajectory.
