REPRESENTATIVES FOR OVERTURE STUDIOS
Thank you for your interest in the advertising representative position. Overture Studios is a full music and video production company in Atlanta. We are currently looking for professional, outgoing people to advertise our services. This job is quite simple and can present you with many income opportunities. Most of our reps do this part time to supplement there income, but it can easily be approached as a full time job. Here’s how it works: You will be supplied with 25 flyers, 50 OS rep cards, and 25 A&R OS rep cards. (The cost of this is promo pack is $5). We pay out a very generous commission which you may collect in cash or studio time.
You will have 3 different ways to advertise:
25 FLYERS:
You may post flyers on bulletin boards at band rehearsal spaces, clubs/venues, audio/music/video schools, music stores, record stores, etc. You will write your assigned ID # on the back of each pull off tab. This tab will be presented to us if the artist/band wants to redeem the 10% off coupon. Always follow all business etiquette rules: Never post this flyer over someone elses. Never take down or sabatoge another flyer. If there is no room, simply rearrange a few things to make room. You may post as many flyers as you want on the same bulletin board, just don't overdue it. If you see that another OS advertising rep has already posted up this same flyer, please leave it alone, do not replace it with yours. If there is room, you may put yours up also. 50 OS REP CARDS:
The OS Rep card is very similar to our flyer. It also contains information about the services that we offer. This card is also reedemable for 10% off of our services. On the back of the card you will write your assigned ID # so you will get credit for your advertising. These cards are to be passed out to people who may have an interest in our services. Word of mouth/personal referral followed with a professional business card is one of the most powerful and effective ways to advertise. Never leave a stack of business cards anywhere, you are waisting your time and your money. These cards must be handed out one at a time to be effective.
25 A&R OS REP CARDS:
The third way to advertise is to present yourself as an A&R Rep. A&R stands for Artist and Repertoire. Industry A&R reps are generally used as talent scouts for Producers and/or Record Companies. Here's how it works: The next time you go out to see a local band play, spot out who the leader is. After the band is done playing and they walk off the stage, approach the leader of the band a.k.a. "front man" and tell him/her that you really enjoyed their performance and that their band is very talented. Hand out your A&R Rep card and say, "My name is John Doe and I'm an A&R rep with Overture Studios, I'd like to get your name and number if that's ok, and I'll have my management contact you to discuss the possibility of a Record Deal. Make sure you have a small pad and pencil to write his contact info down. We will need the name of the band, the name of the person you spoke with, his/her contact #(s), the club/venue, and date. You would then email us with the information and we would contact the band, close the deal, and you’ll receive your commision check shortly after. If you take this serious and approach the band in a business like manner, you'll definately get results. It's important to clarify that you are not in a position to judge their talent at this time. May be in the future, we will allow you to help us in other ways if you feel like you really know how to scout true talent. For now, think of yourself as an industry A&R Rep in training. Now that you understand this, whether you liked the band or not, it really doesn't matter at this point. You will still approach them the same way, because there is always a possibility that they will appeal to a different type of audience. The point is to pass out as many A&R Rep Cards as possible so you can recieve as much commission as possible. Giving a card out to a band that nobody likes isn't going to hurt you anyway.
If you're around musicians a lot and/or you hang out at the same places they do, this is a perfect chance to make some cash in this industry. The next time you go out with your friends and watch a gig. You mise well make some extra cash while you’re there, you might even impress your friends and/or your date with your affiliation with such a big name studio. Commission Paid: You may choose to take 10% of our profit in cash or 20% of our profit redeemed for our services.
