BECOME AN AUDIO INTERN AT OS
Overture Studios in Atlanta, Georgia offers an outstanding, one of a kind, audio internship. This is an incredible, once in a lifetime, opportunity where you will be working with the latest Pro Tools gear, including the Control 24 console for live and studio sessions for a duration of 3 months. There are many reasons why this internship is so unique and appealing, but the 3 main reasons that make this experience so popular are as follows:
1. We are one of a very few select studios who actually take the time and energy to train and educate our interns.
2. We are proud to announce that we offer an option that many studios don't. We offer very affordable housing for our interns. We provide a short 3 month lease at a reasonable cost, with no deposits required. This saves you a lot of time and hassle in finding an appropriate short term lease in Atlanta. If you decided to go back home or somewhere else outside of Atlanta after the internship, you won't be held back because of a longer lease. If you decide to stay in Atlanta hopefully due to your employment with us, you will have 3 good months to search around for the perfect place to live.
3. We operate a few businesses on the side, such as pet sitting, landscaping, and cleaning services. These business were built specifically for our audio and video interns to help pay the rent. (see www.cleanupcrew.biz). You will be hired at $15/hr. The hours will coordinate with your studio responsibilities.
* Living Accommodations:
The selected crew(2 audio and 2 video) will stay at the newly, contemporary, rennovated and lavishly furnished Overture Hideout located right in the center of Greater Atlanta. This 3 level house has a keyed lock for every bedroom, 3 ½ bath rooms, large open kitchen with all new appliances, foyer with dining area, 2nd dining area in formal dining room, large laundry room with new washer and dryer, billiard room with fireplace, 5.1 home theatre with a 57" wide screen HDTV with PS2, fitness room featuring the new Bowflex Ultimate and Gazzele Elite, recreation room with ping pong, fuse ball, air hockey, and electronic darts, and a large multipurpose studio/stage/jam room. There is High-speed, Comcast broadband internet throughout the whole house via a wireless router and Comcast digital cable in every room. All of the audio intern bedrooms are completely furnished, including bed, computer desk, shelving, tv with dvd and vcr, alarm clock, USB modem receiver, business phone with intercom, and a garbage can. All bedrooms have a large enclosed closet and a remote for the overhead dimmable light. All of this is located on 2 acres of land with a private forest in the backyard in a very nice, quiet, safe neighborhood. Everyone has there own personal parking space. There is a volleyball/badmitton net and paved basketball half-court on the property, and there are 4 hard tennis courts right down the street. The recording studio a.k.a control room is in a remote truck which is conveniently parked on the property.
STANDARD AUDIO INTERN DUTIES:
Studios sessions – help carry client instruments and amps/cabinets to and from the live room, unload necessary supplies from truck and setup in live room, including acoustic treatments, mic placement and proper cable inserts, observe engineer while he tracks and overdubs, break down and load supplies on truck, and observe engineer while he mixes at a later date.
Live sessions – unload necessary supplies from truck and setup on stage, including acoustic treatments, mic placement and proper cable inserts, sit at a booth and promote the studio and the band during and after the show, break down and load supplies on truck, and observe engineer while he mixes at a later date.
Daily duties – These duties will change everyday. They include running erands and working on various projects for the studio.
You will have plenty of time to study and get hands on experience with all of the latest gear in the studio.
QUALIFICATIONS:
In addition to obtaining a Recording Degree, you must also have the following:
- Cell phone
- Reliable computer
- Reliable vehicle
- The ability to carry equipment
- The ability to pay $650/month (this includes everything) on the first of every month. The first payment will be used to secure your position.
