1-ON-1 GUITAR & BASS LESSONS
The Owner/Engineer of Overture Studios, "Kevin Cody," Offers 1-ON-1 Private Guitar & Bass Lessons: FAQ: Where do you give the lessons? If you have located one of my yard signs you can either take lessons at my nearby studio, or if you prefer, I can also come to your home for only $5 more (you must be located no more than 10 miles from my studio). If you found my ad on the internet and you don't live close to the Greater Atlanta, GA area, then you may also take lessons from me via Skype over the Internet in Real Time.
FAQ: What do you charge for your services? Only $25 per "One-On-One" lesson. Lessons are 45 minutes in length. If you would like to take lessons with one other friend or family member (maximum of 2 people), the price will only be $5 more for a total of $30 per lesson.
FAQ: Do you offer guitar repair services? Yes, I do. An explaination of my repair services and prices can be found on this link: Instrument Repair.
FAQ: How old do you have to be to take guitar or bass lessons? Given the fact that stringed instruments can be more challenging than other instruments you must be at least 7 years of age to take lessons from me.
FAQ: How are the lessons structured? Whether you choose to learn the Guitar or the Bass, I have a set curriculum for both beginner & intermediate players. My curriculum is structured to teach you from the ground up to ensure that we don't skip over anything important. Depending on your current knowledge of music and your instrument of choice, everyone will advance through my course at a different pace.
FAQ: When can I take lessons and how often should I take them? I am available 7 days a week, just let me know what day and time is good for you and we'll set up your first appointment. I recommend that you take one lesson per week and that you choose a day and time that you know you will be available every week. You may also choose to take lessons bi-weekly.
Skype FAQ: What is Skype? Skype is the #1 rated, real time, video web conference application which enables you to communicate with anyone in the world for free, as if you were actually face to face in the same room. If you don't already have Skype, simply go to Get Skype Now and download the software for free. You will also need a web camera, mic, and speakers if you don't already have these items.
Skype FAQ: What are the benefits of using Skype for Guitar & Bass Lessons vs. meeting in person? There are 2 main benefits: 1) You will save a lot of money and time not haveing to travel to and from the instructor's place of business. Skype just makes this experience so much more convenient allowing you to learn in the privacy of your own home. 2) Skype also offers the ability to record unlimited lessons for $29.95 with "Supertintin Video Call Recorder." This recording will always be available as a resource if you choose to go back and review any previous lessons. Parents especially like this feature because it gives them an opportunity to later review these recorded lessons and monitor both the instructor's and child's performance and interaction.
Skype FAQ: I'm a little weary/apprehensive about paying for a service over the internet with a company that I'm not familiar with. How do I know I'm going to get what I pay for? Overture Studios (based in Atlanta, GA) has been in business for over 9 years now. Before you pay anything, please call me (Kevin Cody - OS Owner/Engineer & Your Personal Guitar and Bass Instructor: 404-915-4116). The first thing we'll do is set up a quick appointment for a free, live tutorial on how the lessons will be administered. During this time we will engage in a 1-ON-1 Skype Session where we can get to know each other and discuss your goals and aspirations for learning how to play the Guitar or Bass.
