"I just moved here and I bought this book at National Azabu after watching Lost in Translation in the United States. Tokyo Stories and Lost in Translation are kind of similar - they're both about foreigners' adventures in Tokyo, they're both really funny and touching at the same time, and they're both set in the Park Hyatt Tokyo. It was a nice combination to watch the movie and read the book to get two different perspectives on Tokyo life."
- Corina (Ebisu)

"..one of the funniest books I've read in a long time!"
- Simon (Minato-ku)

"..this is really fiction, isn't it? One of the main characters sounds too much like someone I know! I just have to ask -- do you happen to know XXX?"
- Ken (Nishi Azabu)

"...I couldn't stop laughing, reading about Henry and Kiyomi's romantic exploits...and what a strange twist of fate afterwards."
- Susan (Saitama)

"...These kind of things really happen in Tokyo?? I can't believe this is the same city I live in!"
- Pete (Nakano)

"...I love that Henry character. Sounds exactly like someone I work with!"
- Jim (Akasaka)

"I thought it would be a girlie book -- but it actually wasn't. I really enjoyed reading it. In fact, I stayed up all night just to finish it because I really wanted to find out what happened to everyone in the end."
- Ken (Tokyo)

"...Loved the ending. Peter got exactly what was due him. Talk about bad karma."
- Kim (Sendagaya)

"I couldn't believe the ending. Sounds so fantastic but so believable at the same time. After reading it, I really started to think that Tokyo is so big but it can really be a village too."
- Madoka (Chuo-ku)

"It's a guide to expatriate life in Tokyo, but it's also a guide to Tokyo since it uses real places as backdrops. I tried one of the restaurants mentioned in the book and it was really good!"
- Daneeta (Hiroo)

"I was able to read about people I hardly ever encounter. It was really interesting to read about the life of a diplomat or a maid in Japan."
- Hiromi (Shibuya)
