DONATION/FUNDRAISING APPEAL FOR ORPHANS PROJECT.
Donation/fundraising appeal for the HIV/AIDS orphans and vulnerable children in Teso district Western Kenya. The charity fundraising will enable our non-Governmental organization [community Wake] acquire funds to provide basic needs to these children .We hope after reading our programme you will be motivated and wishing to make a donation/financial aid, please fundfriends. All funds contributed to the non-profit in the fundraising activities will be utilized for the purpose intended these includes provision of adequate food. Clothing basic health services, psychological and social.
ABOUT OUR ORGANIZATION

Community have organization is a non-governmental organization (NGO) registered in Kenya No. OP/218/051/2002/0292/2584. Aims are to provide products services and goOds intended to improve the health and quality of life for the poor peasant communities in Teso district western Kenya. Some of these products and services include:
(a Caring for and supporting HIV/AIDS orphans and other vulnerable children by providing them with basic needs.
(b)Prevention and controlling the spread of HIV/AIDS by sensitization and awareness creation. Due to high rate of illiteracy and ignorance among many members of the community there is a need to educate the people about HIV/AIDS,the modes of contacting it, the preventive and control measures to be put in place to curb the spread of the epidemic.
PROBLEM STATEMENT:

HIV/AIDS continues to be a leading disease that causes death in Teso district, western province of Kenya. Approximately 1 out of 5 houses have seen an orphan left behind following the death of their parents. The scourage has become a vehicle of doom and gloom, ravaging families leaving nothing but death at their wake.
The disease has multiplied the already existing vicious cycle poverty situation in the area. It has reversed several years of development gains. When members of the society spend all their long term savings on orphan upkeep expenses, leaving them more poorer and family members devastated. There is need to create public awareness, sensitizing members of the society in order to curb the spread of the pandemic and assist the orphans and vulnerable children.
We define orphans and/or vulnerable children as children under sixteen years who have been rendered destitute by loss of mother or both parents on by illness, poverty or other reasons.
After the scourage have swept out the head of families children are left under care of their poor aged grand parents who have no time and resources to attend them. Thus, there is high incidence of these children going without any means of support.
In certain cases children aged 10-12 years immediately after the deaths of their parents start heading families others drop out of school to earn money for their younger brothers and sisters or take care of their ill relatives.
Due to lack of proper care and support many orphans and vulnerable children have ended up in the streets, towns and market places. There they scarvage for food in the dustbins, commit petty crimes and as the night falls sleep in open corridors and tunnels. Circumstance force these children to be in this environment, because back in the village they have nobody to take care for them or have very little or obsolutely nothing to eat. There is an urgent need to mobilize and rehabilitate these children back in the villages provide them with basic needs including enrolment in schools and vocational training centres where they can develop skill that will enable them to be productive.
There has been notable increase in death of orphans in the district because immediately after the deaths of their parents they remain on a poor diet and lack health care facilities. If these can be made available e.g. balanced nutritions food diet to boost body immune system in order to fight opportunistic diseases and anti retroviral treatment drugs for those who are HIV positive. Increase in the life span and health of the orphans can be guaranteed.
Also some of these children live with one or both parents who are HIV positive. Due to their ignorance about the disease they are exposed to contacting the virus. Therefore there is need to educate the children on what HIV/AIDS is, methods of transmission and how to prevent contracting the virus.
Another problem during the orphans and vulnerable children in Teso district is stigmatization, rejection, victimization, humiliation and discrimination. In many cases orphans and vulnerable children have been isolated from other normal children because of the situation they are in. the situation has been worsened by those responsible for caring and supporting them, where they don’t provide enough attention to the children.
Our organization will take serious sensitization and professional counselling, a situation or a feeling of belonging must be created in order for these children live a normal lives. They should be made to know whether infected or affected, they are normal, individuals or citizens who have a future and legal rights just like anybody else.

The Teso orphans support project has two distinct goals:-
•Advocate, care for and support children impacted by HIV/AIDS and prevent further spread of HIV.
•Improve orphans and other vulnerable children welfare by increasing access to education, adequate food, basic health services, psychological support and legal rights.
OBJECTIVES
•To raise acceptability of those children affected by stigma to the family and community and hence reduce stigma associated with AIDS.
•To facilitate quality community care for and support to the orphans and other vulnerable children.
•Ensuring the child’s future by provision of basic material support for the child’s to To empower the infected children with the knowledge needed for long term care and support.
•Ensuring orphans and vulnerable children have their human and legal rights respected.
•Provide children with vital HIV/AIDS reading materials.
•Promoting children’s good health including psychological and social support.
•for the sustainability of the To mobilize resources necessary project.
