Wedahoes On Wheels or Way Out West Gatherin'... they both spell WOW!

Dates are August 9th through the 13th.

If you haven't been to Idaho and experienced its scenic Grandeur you are in for a seriously tasty treat. Idaho's low population, good roads and mountain wilderness areas make it a great out west getaway for bikers.

Suggested Itinerary

Monday the 9th - Meet and greet in absolutely beautiful Stanley Idaho. All roads into Stanley are excellent for riding. Consult your map and pick a route in. This famous and rustic summer mountain retreat town located in Idaho's Sawtooth Mountains is a must stop. Make reservations for one night at EDIT - STAY TUNED - CHANGE OF PLANS FOR LODGING A good evening meal, a drink at the saloon and a walk around town for a Sawtooth mountain sunset view will be just the thing for our first night of the Gatherin'

Tuesday the 10th - Pack up and ride to Orofino Idaho. We'll be on twisty scenic mountain roads the entire day. Take 75 to 93 through Salmon Idaho and over Lost Trail Pass. We'll make a short side trip to famous Big Hole National Battlefield were Chief Joseph of the Nez Perce Indian tribe tried to flee the US Calvary but were caught in 1877 on August 9th and 10th exactly 133 years ago. WE'll then continue to Lolo Montana and turn west towards Orofino following the Lewis and Clark scenic hwy 12 going over Lolo pass. This route is 409 miles long.

For those who want a shorter route from Stanley to Orofino but still on twisty mountain roads follow hwy 21 west to Banks idaho and go north on 55 and then 95 to Grangeville Idaho. Take 13 North to Kooskia Idaho and 12 and ride on into Orofino Idaho. This is a fine ride all the way. You won't be disappointed. This route is 305 miles long.

We'll be staying a the very nice and scenic Rivers Edge Best Western. It's a highly rated Motel in Northern Idaho. Call 1-208-476-9999 and ask for Lori or Rosie for a 12% discount. Rooms are $105 and $111 per night but this is a special place and worth a few dollars more. This is also a resort area so we are lucky to get the discount at this time of the year. If you want to be on the river side of the motel reserve early. It's a heck of view from your room overlooking the beautiful Clearwater River. You be able to walk down to the riverbank for evening strolls. Plan on 4 nights at the River's Edge.

Wednesday the 11th - Ride the wilderness but paved road to remote Elk City and back to Orofino. This is a short scenic ride on twisty roads to a dead end and a great little Tavern. Should be a blast. Take our time and enjoy

Thursday the 12th - Ride to Coure D'Alene Idaho and it's incredibly beautiful lake along back roads made for motorcycles. Scenery all day. We'll stop at the famous Snake Pit for some eats and fun.

Friday the 13th - Ooooh, Spooky. LOL Some might be heading home but some can Join in on a run to famous Palouse Falls Washington in the huge Columbia Basalt Plateau. Others may want to catch up on some rest and wander the local area. It's all good.
