The SEEN Festival serves the community
The SEEN Fest is also a canned foods and clothes drive benefitting several eastbay organizations who aid, battered women, displaced families, persons with chronic mental illness and the homeless, having raised hundreds of pounds of food and clothing over the past 11 years or so

One of only 3 summer world reggae culture festivals taking place here in the San Francisco bay area (and lord knows we need much more reggae culture)
The SEEN Fest however, Has been in existence and going strong for the last 11+ years....The funny thing about it is that even after all of these years and 11 dynamite festival shows, The Series is in jeopardy of possibly "not" happening....Reason? for starters, there has been a lack of funding, sponsorship and overall contributions.
although we have had great bands & entertainers playing at The SEEN Festival and with wonderful turnouts, i am still afraid that the persons who have attended this event recently and in the the past may not be reggae music or worldbeat lovers at all but, simply persons taking advantage of another "free show" and not quite getting the understanding that the SEEN Festival is truly in the hands of the People who have a disire to enjoy a summer reggae festival that is almost literally in your backyard. (if you are a resident of Oakland and the east bay)
I am personally emploring all lovers of reggae, worldbeat and other forms of conscious cultural music and musics of the african diaspora and the world to come forward and or encourage your family, friends and business associates to give strong monetary support to; "The SEEN Festival and The SEEN Music Series" (especially here in the San Francisco/oakland/Berkeley bay area)
