DAVE'S DEPOSITION(Dave Harvey)
It is again my sad duty to inform you of the passing of yet another classmate. Another personal friend with whom I had become quite close due to our nearness of location to each other.
A letter from the daughter-in-law of Albert H. Bettenhausen Jr. has announced that Al passed on January 30, 2004.
Al had been of exceptional help and support to me when my wife, Jean, passed in September and earlier as we worked through some other tough health times together. I shall miss him and speaking for the class, as I am wont to do, he will be missed by us all. He joins our list of Cold War Heroes as a most distinguished member.![]()
We salute you, Al.
And now, as I don the hat as a representative of Third Squadron, I implore you gentleman of the "Thundering Herd" to join us in Las Vegas in April. We are not getting younger and there are precious few days left to say both hello and goodbye to your classmates. Prices will never be better, the accommodations will never be as good, and the airlines will never be this cheap again. Let me change hats back to the Class Secretary/Historian and use exactly the same argument for the rest of you. Consider the call to Las Vegas in 2004 to be a PANIC call...get your butts out here and have a great time...of that you can rest assured...you will have a great time...we always do.
Use the reservation sheet included or just call one of us and we'll see to it that you get what you need.
I do excuse Jim Hovingh 'cause he's going to be in Australia (even though I've had a white-one for poor timing) but for everyone else there's no excuse. We can even get a showgirl to haul you around in a Gurney if we have to...I think...I'll have to check with Frank Walls on that last one.Dave
Respectfully, Your staff
