2007 REUNION UPDATE BY JACK FOX

Since a volunteer has not stepped forward, I�m assuming the duties of registrar for the 2007 reunion. Some of the following is a repeat of my message of 4-08-06. The reunion will be held 11-14 April 2007 at the Doubletree Hotel in San Antonio. The planning committee of Dick and Val Edwards, 57-C, Larry Dillon, 57-B and Bud Kinney, 57-D has contracted with Doubletree for a block of reserved rooms, plus facilities for the banquet/buffet and an area for the photo shoot and class meetings. The Doubletree is easily accessible from the airport on the North Loop circling the city.

RESERVATIONS: The deadline is 22 March 2007. Call (800) 535-1980 for room reservations. To get the discounted rate, you must specify the �OCS Class of 57� code. Make your reservations without delay because we aren�t guaranteed space beyond the block reserved. We currently have 10 rooms blocked for 4-11, 30 for 4-12 and 40 for 4-13 and 4-14. Our discounted rate is $107.41per day, all taxes included. The rate is valid 4-08-07 through 4-17-07. Cancellations will be accepted up to 4:00 PM of the day reserved.

GOLF: A golf tourney is planned for Thursday, 4-12. Some of us wish to play more than one round, which hopefully can be arranged at a later date. Prizes will be awarded from member donations, including a custom fitted driver and putter. Prize distribution will be determined by Bob Lee, golf chairman. Green fees are pay-as-you-go. Include your verifiable handicap index or average score for 18 holes on the reservation form.

OTHER SCHEDULED ACTIVITIES: Friday, 4-13, Basic Military Training (BMT) graduation parade at Lackland and a possible tour and �Dutch Lunch� at the Air Force Village. Saturday, 4-14, evening banquet with Mexican style buffet dinner, casual dress.
Thursday and Saturday are open for shopping at the North Star Mall, across the highway, El Mercado Mexican Market and the downtown river walk. Class business meetings are scheduled for 0900 Saturday.
Call the Chamber of Commerce (800) 447-3372 after 1 January to receive �Your Guide to the River City from the Alamo to the Zoo� which has dated coupons and maps, attractions, etc. April weather in San Antonio is generally mild with daytime temps in the 70s.

IT IS ACCOMPLISHED!!!! The Contract with the Doubletree Hotel for the reunion of OCS Class of 57, 11-15 April 2007 has been signed per Bud Kinney 57D, Larry Dillon 57B and Val and Dick Edwards 57C. Dale and Elaine Shipley are sponsoring a "Classmate Collection in Cool Colorado" - a mini-reunion in Fort Collins, CO from 9-11 July 2005. A great time will be had by all!
