FOLLOW SIGNS FROM THE INTERSECTION
From Scottsboro Alabama take Route 72 west. Approximately 14 miles on the left, you will see log cabin gas station turn left onto route 6, just before the gas station. Route 6 is a hidden road, which goes behind the log cabin station. The entrance to Nutty Acres Campground is just past the horse pasture on the right approximately 2 miles.

From Huntsville Alabama, route 72 east. Follow signs for Cathedral Caverns State Park, do not turn onto Cave Rd going to the cave. Stay on Cathedral Caverns Rd. We are 2 miles past Cave Rd. on the left. Alternatively, turn right onto route 6 at the log cabin gas station.

FISHING HOT SPOTS

Guntersville Lake. Alabama's largest lake contains over 69,000 acres and stretches 75 miles from Nickajack Dam to Guntersville Dam. Free boat ramps and private marinas are along the lake's perimeter. Fishing, boating, camping, hunting and during the winter Eagle watching centers on Guntersville State Park and the dam.
Wheeler lake Bass fishing is the most popular fishery in Wheeler Reservoir. Largemouth bass small mouth bass are common from Decatur to the west end, especially from Elk River down. The northern strain of spotted bass are common too, and are primarily near the main channel. This reservoir is home to quality fishing for a variety of fish. Catfish fishing is excellent, the previous world record blue catfish, 111 pounds, from Wheeler Reservoir on July 5, 1996. Bream (bluegill, red ear sunfish, and long ear sunfish) fishing is excellent, also. Crappie grow exceptionally fast here. Sauger run upstream during the winter and early spring and are caught below Guntersville Dam. Striped bass, hybrids and white bass make spring runs too and can be caught schooling during the summer.
