Mission Statement:
Our goal is to end the killing of adoptable and treatable companion animals in the Lehigh Valley by 2010. We will do this by advocating for the implementation of policies and programs in accordance with the No Kill Equation that will reduce population growth and increase rates of adoption and retention of companion animals.
No animal should have to die just because it's homeless.
Thank You Lehigh Valley Animal Hospital!
On Nov. 9th, at the suggestion of the doctors and staff of Lehigh Valley Animal Hospital, Allentown, we held a mini Operation Catsnip at their facility. Six veterinarians and 14 technicians donated their valuable time to make spay/neuter surgeries affordable for cats. 84 cats were spayed and neutered. The day went perfectly, without a hitch. We want to thank the doctors and staff of LVAH and the wonderful volunteers from No Kill Lehigh Valley for making this possible. Our next Operation Catsnip will be held in March - exact date to be announced. Stay tuned!
NKLV 5K Hound Hike
On October 11th we spent a glorious fall day in the Little Lehigh Parkway with a lot of wonderful people and their dogs. Our walk raised over $1000.00 for the spay/neuter program. Thanks to Wendy Benedict for making this possible. We'll be doing it again next year.
FURRY FRIENDS FEST AND VACCINATION CLINIC Sept. 7th, 2008
A huge success!!!! 485 people came through the door and we administered over 200 vaccinations. 17 rescues and 12 vendors were in attendance. The weather was great. The day was wonderful and all in attendance hoped it would be an annual event. So it will be! We want to thank all of our wonderful volunteers who worked so hard and gave so much of their time. Special thanks to Dr. Chris Santiago of Northside VCA Animal Hospital and Dr. Karen Detweiler of Mobi Vet Mobile Vetrinary Service for donating their valuable time to the clinic. And thank you to the city of Bethlehem and especially Falon Maggio of the Health Bureau for their support.
OPERATION CATSNIP A HUGE SUCCESS! Congratulations to our team of veterinarians, vet techs and volunteers for a fabulously successful day - over 300 cats spayed and neutered in one day! Special thanks to the Center for Animal Health & Welfare in Easton, Lehigh Valley Animal Hospital in Kuhnsville, Country Doctor Veterinary Hospital in New Tripoli and Drs. Hess and Fanelli for donating their time and facilities to this effort. Hundreds of kittens will not be born this year as a result of their dedication.
If you need to have your cat spayed or neutered and you missed this event, there are other low cost alternatives available. Go to our low cost spay/neuter page for information.

Provide support for non kill groups that are struggling to care for their animals.
Continue tactical planning to promote the programs of the No Kill Equation.
Develop a comprehensive Valley wide Trap/Neuter/Return program for free roaming cats.

This website is a work in progress. Our most recent posting is a GOOD NEWS page so that we can share exciting positive information from shelters and rescues in our area. We also recently added a page which lists local spay neuter programs and provides pertinent information. And we have added a section on charitable giving so that you can look into the financial situation of national and local groups before deciding to whom to send your money. We have also added pages for local groups with basic information and links to their websites.
Be sure to take a look at our galleries. We have one for the Center for Animal Health and Welfare which showcases lovely adoptable animals. We will be happy to post a gallery for any other no kill organization or rescue. Just contact us at nklv@webspawner.org. We also have a Good News gallery which lets you look into the faces of those that have been saved. Don't miss it. To view pictures, go to the bottom of the page and click Gallery.
