The personal emergency kit, I carry with me in a watertight box, comprises: Strong waterproof (duck) tape Tool- knife Space blanket Fire starter & matches in a photographic film holder – for extra water protection Energy bar Mini head torch I also carry in my PFD (lifejacket) pocket: A few painkillers in a film holder A river knife A whistle and clipped on my seat’s back bend (or in a waist belt), available at first reach, are my safety line and z-drag cords and pullies.
