20 Aug 04. Final day for canoe kayak slalom here in Athens. Semifinals and Finals for C2 and men's K1.

As it was expected Slovakians reigned in C2 while the French Peschier and Lefevre took gold and bronze in K1.

18 Aug 04. Pavol and Peter Hochschorner, the Slovakian twins and golden olympic champions of 2000, had no trouble at all taking the lead in both runs, while in men's K1, British Cambell Walsh had the fastest run in his first attempt but at the end of the day ranked second, after Swiss Michael Kurt.

French Tony Estanguet won the most difficult battle to Slovakian Michal Martikan, in C1, while world no 1 Elena Kaliska (SVK) as expected, monopolised both semifinals and finals to the gold medal.

17 Aug 04. Action day 1 for canoe kayak slalom here in Athens with C1 for men and K1 for women.

Slovakian champion Michal Martikan, the 1996 gold and 2000 silver medalist is on the lead of the prelimineries, only 0.09 seconds before Sidney gold medal holder, Tony Estanguet from France. A fast second run recovered strong Martikan from the 6th place in the 1st run, in front of Estanguet who kept his smooth style all along.
Only the leading 12 will race at the semifinals tomorrow.

In women K1, Jennifer Bongardt of Germany has the lead, with world no 1, Elena Kaliska (SVK) less than a second away.
The first 15 will continue to tomorrow's semifinals.

14 Aug 04. Olympic games have officialy started with an astonishing opening ceremony yesterday night.

Greek K1 slalom contenter may not be as famous as his olympic rivals, but he is an accomplished river kayaker and former freestyle athlete, until devoting himself to the olympic sport the last 4 years.
