Section 1 (Perivoli - Hydroelectric project):
This is the most interesting section of the river, that will unfortunately drown, after the completion of the hydroelectric project (probably sometime in 2004). Let's hope that river preservation and protection of the nature, will be in authorities's agenda in the future works designing.
- Length: 7km.
- Put in: at the village of Perivoli.
- Take out: at the hydroelectric project worksite at the end of the gorge. Access of take out is through a 2km good dirt road, leaving the Perivoli-Sperhiada asphalt road, approx. 7.5km from Perivoli (see GPS mark below)
- Character: Sporty, Low volume, tight and bouldary, in a V-shaped gorge, 4% grade, from km 2 to km 6. Bonny and slow in the first 2 kms before the gorge.
- General Difficulty: Grade III, IV in medium flow.

Km by Km description:
- 0.1km weir/undercut - portage River Right
- 2.3km entrance of gorge
- 2.5km 1st sign.rapid (IV)- river divides, left run
- 3.3km Dam - mandatory portage left
- 4.3km right tributary (Koumarorema)
- 4.5km weir - road deviation - portage left
- 6.0km end of gorge - power station building
- 7.1km take out river left - summer river crossing
Paddling into the gorge, downstream of the dam, will soon be impopssible!
- Shuttle: Put in - Take out approx.10km/30min. For the 2nd part, take out is river left, before the dam passing the village of Agios Sostis. Exit left, passing Sperhiada, on the way to Perivoli. For safety reasons, better leave the shuttle vehicle next to the road bridge.
- Gauge info: There is no gaugemeter. When the riverbed under the put in bridge is fully covered by water, the flow is high.
