THE NIGHTWATCHMEN CRICKET CLUB
The Nightwatchmen CC was founded in the summer of 2003.
ORIGINALLY A TEAM OF DADS WHOSE SONS PLAYED FOR DARLINGTON JUNIORS, THE NIGHTWATCHMEN HAVE DEVELOPED INTO A FRIENDLY CRICKET SIDE WHO PLAY CRICKET IN A COMPETITIVE BUT SPORTING MANNER.
Our playing membership consists of dads of young cricketers from the Darlington Cricket Club, Ex cricketers and current players from both the D and D cricket league and the NYSD league.
Our home for 2005 season is the beautiful parkland ground of Cliffe CC. Cliffe's ground is in the heart of the impressive Cliffe Hall Estate and is one of the most picturesque small cricket grounds in the north of England.
We play some of our cricket where every member of the team has a bowl and batsmen retire if they get too many runs (amount of runs decided before the match starts)
We also play the occasional 40 over Sunday afternoon game against stronger opposition where we unleash some of our more illustrious superstars!
We play a rotation system in batting order and try to make the cricket serious but fun!
