Dr. SAMUEL CASWELL, son of John Caswell; born Oct. 6, 1695. Married Ursula White, Feb. 5, 1727-8, daughter of Deacon Nicholas White; had four children. Died 1747. Believed to have had a wife, and a son Samuel, previous to his marriage with Ursula.
Dr. NICHOLAS WHITE, son of Deacon Nicholas and Experience White, born about 1705. Married Sarah King, May 1, 1728; had six children. Died June 29, 1751.
Dr. WILLIAM WARE, son of John and Mehitable Ware of Wrentham. Born July 4, 1697. Married Zibiah Sweeting Oct. 30, 1728; she died Nov. 1, 1732. Married Anna Hodges Sept. 27, 1733. Third wife was Lydia ---. He had at least nine children.
Dr. JOHN WILD, Jun., son of John and Abigail Wild, probably born in Braintree in 1727. Married Anna Hodges May 1, 1746 and had 2 or 3 children. Buried in Timothy-Plain Cemetery his inscription reads: "In memory of M.D. John Wild, who died December ye 13th, 1756, in ye 30th year of his age."
Dr. LEWIS SWEETING, son of Lewis and Zibiah (Whiting) Sweeting, of Wrentham, who were married in 1721 and moved to Rehoboth. Married on Nov. 21, 1744 to Abiah Cobb by whom he had ten children.
Dr. GEORGE WHEATON, son of Ephraim and Abigail Wheaton, of Swansea; grandson of Deacon Ephraim and Mary (Mason) Wheaton, of Swansea, great-grandson of Robert. Born August 18, 1728.Married Elizabeth Morey on Oct. 4, 1750 and had six children. Served as selectman, assessor, representative to the General Court, justice of the peace. Died in Norton, June 4, 1803.
Dr. JONATHAN PRATT, supposed to have been son of Jonathan and Abigail (Morse) Pratt; born Oct. 17, 1729. Married Hepzibah Billings of Stoughton (now Sharon) in 1758 but never had any children. He died October 13, 1771.
Dr. GIDEON TIFFANY, son of James, jun., and Elizabeth (Allen) Tiffany, of Attleborough. Born Sept. 19, 1737. He married Mrs. Sarah Farrar, the widow of Rev. George Farrar, of Easton on Feb. 8, 1759. In 1782 he moved to Hanover, N.H. then to the State of New York. Died at Ancaster, Canada West. He had ten children.
Dr. ADAM JOHNSTONE, a Scotchman, probably came to Norton about 1772. Married Oct. 14, 1773, Sarah Hodges. She died Oct. 29, 1781 in her 31st year. Moved to Pelham and then to Danby, VT, where he died June 10, 1806.
Dr. DANIEL PARKER, son of Rev. Jonathan Parker, of Plympton. Born about 1750. Married Miss Abigail Hewes of Wrentham on Dec. 22, 1777 and had seven children. He died Sept. 26, 1826 at age seventy-six.
Dr. NATHANIEL COOK, son of Paul and Joanna Cook. Born May 29, 1752. Died Oct. 22, 1778 fairly soon after he completed his medical studies.
Dr. TIMOTHY SMITH, son of Timothy and Hannah (Hall) Smith, grandson of Seth and Elizabeth Smith. Born Oct. 17, 1754. Married Anna Morey on Oct. 20, 1778 and had five children. He died Jan 9, 1794. His widow married Abiel Lincoln.
Dr. NATHAN BABBIT, son of Nathan, jun., and Abigail (Cobb) Babbit, grandson of Nathan and Sarah, and great-grandson of Nathan, who, with his brother, Edward, is supposed to have come from England, and settled in Berkley. Born in Norton, March 6, 1755. Married Anna Newcomb on June 24, 1779. In 1789, he moved to Westmoreland, N.H. He had three sons and three daughters. Died April, 1826.
Dr. SAMUEL MOREY, son of Samuel and Mary (Hodges) Morey, grandson of George and Elizabeth Morey. Born June 4, 1757. Graduated Yale in 1777. Married Miss Sarah Palmer, daughter of the second minister of Norton on April 19, 1787. He died Nov. 8, 1836.
Dr. LEWIS LEPRILETE, of France, naturalized on March 6, 1790. Married, Mrs. Deborah (Hodges) Allen on March 15, 1784. Moved to Jamaica Plain (West Roxbury) in 1792, then back to France for several years. He moved back to America and lived in Franklin till his death. On a marble slab standing in a field on the Boylston estate, Boylston Street, Jamaica Plain is an inscription in Latin. A translated portion of it reads "In memory of Doctor Lewis Leprilete, member of Mass. Med. Soc.; born in Nantes, France, Oct. 10, 1750; Died July 29, 1804; very celebrated in surgery."
Dr. LEAVIT BATES, son of Leavit and Elizabeth (Pain) Bates of Mansfield. Born May 6, 1770. Married Hannah Clapp,2nd, in 1797 and had five children. He died Dec. 16, 1850.
Dr. GUILFORD HODGES, son of Tisdale and Naomi (Hodges) Hodges. Born Jan. 25, 1778. Moved to Phillipston where he married Phebe Maynard and had two sons. Died in 1815.
Dr. ASA M. ADAMS, son of Asa and Martha (Metcalf) Adams. Believed to have been born in Natick about 1795. Came to Norton about 1819, moved to Easton about 1841, then to Taunton where he died, a bachelor, Oct. 25, 1852.
DR. RICHARD F. SWEET, son of John and Eunice (Tucker) Sweet. Born March 11, 1801. Practiced in Edgartown, Martha's Vineyard before moving to Norton in August 1831. Married May 16, 1830 Eliza Milton of Edgartown and had three sons and four daughters. Died March 21, 1841.
Dr. IRA BARROWS, born in 1804 in Attleborough; son of Ezra and grandson of Ichabod Barrows. Came to Norton in 1841. Moved in 1851 to Providence, R.I. Married in 1833 a daughter of the late Oliver Bartlet of Smithfield, R.I. and is known to have had four children.
Dr. BENJAMIN M. ROUND, born in Rehoboth on Aug. 11, 1816; son of Benjamin and Devena (Harvey) Round. Came to Norton Sept. 9, 1843 and began his homeopathic practice on April 1, 1844. Married Miss Seraphene S. Pullen of East Winthrop, Maine on Dec. 24, 1845. She died Sept. 19, 1847. Married Miss Sophia Morey of Taunton on Aug. 30, 1849 and had four children.
Dr. GEORGE H. RANDALL, son of Dr. M. R. and Eliza Randall, of Rehoboth. Born about 1826. Married Mehitable Hodges on June 1, 1851. Moved to Rehoboth in April of 1854.
