I am writing to you to share with you my concerns for what is happening to me, as well as others off in here at WSP. But before I proceed please allow me to briefly tell you how I became aware of your existence.
A strong good brother, an associate of mine, shared some information about your organization, and I became interested. He said to drop you a few lines concerning my situation, to see whether you might put it onto your Network and onto your website. I would really appreciate it. U.S. CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHTS VIOLATIONS
On 12/18/00 I was handcuffed and escorted from the south dining hall by correctional officer (C/O) Boland and C/O Michael, and brought to Unit 1 North Disciplinary Segregation. While I was being escorted, both C/Os Boland and Michael were talking back and forth to each other playing some kind of game, jerking my wrists and pushing my arms up applying pressure to my shoulders. I asked both C/Os could they loosen up the handcuffs, because they were way too tight and I have bad wrists already, and they're starting to cut off my blood circulation in my arms and my wrists. Both C/Os ignored my request and continued to laugh at me!
After arriving at Unit 1 North holding cell, C/O Michael grabbed the back of my head and shoved it into the bars. C/O Michael and C/O Boland and a group of other C/Os, about 10 to 15 of them, pushed me to the floor. C/O Michael had his boot on the back of my neck pushing down and applying pressure, C/O Boland had his knee all in my back pushing his knee all in my spine. While other C/Os were twisting my legs, arms, wrists, yelling real loud in my ears, making threats to break my neck, arms, legs, wrists, saying stay on the floor until we tell you to get up.
Lt. D. Bingham and C.U.S. Bider said snatch him up and carry him naked and place him in a cell with nothing. My cell's water was ordered to be turned off, and the whole time this was all going on a female C/O was filming it. All this was done for no reason at all.
Somehow my request slips to Medical have been destroyed, or purposely thrown away. I have put numerous request slips ("kites") in asking for medical attention, due to the unnecessary and excessive force that was perpetrated against me, from 12/19/00 all the way up until the present, 3/23/01. I believe this facility is trying to cover up their negligent actions and the injurious results.
WSP is failing to protect me and provide me with reasonable basic health care. As a result of such negligence and persistent disregard, I continue to suffer. I am in pain and possibly have sustained permanent injuries, both mental and physical injuries.
Superintendent John Lambert, head of Washington State Penitentiary, supports this kind of behavior by his C/Os. Since I have been here at this facility, I have been mistreated and my rights are being violated.
It is the responsibility of the state of Washington and the Department of Corrections to see to it that I am treated like a human being!
I wish the courts and the public could have a clearer picture of what is happening to us off here in this prison system. It's very childish, very dangerous, and completely unacceptable. These gross violations that are happening throughout the Washington prison system must be stopped immediately.

P.S. -- It would be very helpful if people who receive this would email it to the Washington Governor, Secretary of Corrections, and other public servants and legislators, who have responsibility for what the employees of the the Washington Department of Corrections do in the name of the taxpayers who pay all their salaries.
