READ NEW SIMPLIFIED BIBLE

The New Simplified Bible is a free online modern English translation of the Bible. The purpose of this translation is to help the reader understand the various shades of meaning of the English words. To accomplish this (parentheses) are placed around clarifying words that convey additional meaning to the words included in the original text. Limited Scripture references and short commentary are also placed within parentheses.

* HONORS DIVINE NAME: God’s Name, Jehovah, is found throughout the New Simplified Bible including the "New Testament." The four basic Hebrew letters used to represent God’s Name in modern languages are YHWH. They are from the four consonants written 6,828 times in the original "Old Testament" or Hebrew Scriptures. These four letters are called the Tetragrammaton. They have been translated: “the LORD,” “Yahweh,” and “Jehovah.” Some translations have even used the impersonal titles “the Self Existent,” “the Eternal” and "God." A recent translation simply keeps the original Hebrew letters of the Tetragrammaton in the English text. This practice would confuse most readers. Translators must decide which name or title they will use when they translate the Tetragrammation. We do not know the exact spelling or pronunciation, however the name “Jehovah” has been used for centuries. Its equivalent is widely accepted and used in many languages today. The important thing is that we recognize God’s name with respect and out of love. (See NSB Translation Notes for more information)

WHY JEHOVAH? How did Bible researchers get "Jehovah" or "Yahweh" from the consonant letters YHWH? They added the missing vowels as follows: YaHoWaH and transliterated to JeHoVaH. You need to remove the middle vowel "o" in order to transliterate to Yahweh. The translator of the New Simplified Bible respects both names and considered using both, however the name Jehovah is the most commonly accepted name of God in English and it includes the middle vowel!

* NON-TRINITARIAN: The New Simplified Bible is not Trinitarian biased. It does not espouse, adopt, embrace, or promote the Trinity. It accurately features the true monotheistic God of the Holy Scriptures. Many Greek words have multiple meanings in English. Translators use the English words and meanings that best represent their theological beliefs and the beliefs of the Bible translating agencies for whom they work. The New Simplified Bible translates to the complete context of the Holy Scriptures. It honestly reflects the Bible's own statement, "Jehovah is God! There is no one besides Him!" "Jehovah our God is one God!" (Deuteronomy 4:35; 6:4)(See NSB Translation Notes)

Each believer should honestly answer the question: "Is it the truth because you believe it, or do you believe it because it is the Bible based truth?"

"This bible is an easy read, easily understood by most without being dumbed down."

"Why do you use the terms “Old Testament” and “New Testament” when you should know that “Hebrew Scriptures” and “Christian Greek Scriptures” are more proper titles?"

"What do you think you're doing translating John 1:1 so different?"

"We're all perplexed why you would spend so much time, money and energy on another Bible when the New World Translation is ALREADY the VERY BEST Translation!"

"I love that I can sit down with the New Simplified Bible and read one of the longer books of the Bible in less than an hour!"

"Though I appreciate and read many translations of the Bible, I find it to be an annoyance to continuously be forced to substitute "Jehovah" where I read "the LORD." So your translation, the NSB, with its faithful rendering of God's name is a most welcome one."

LITERACY: More than 20% of adults read at or below a fifth grade level, far below the level needed to earn a living wage.
