Brother Can You Spare A Rhyme

(Inspired by Yip Harburg's 1931 song of the Depression as sung by Bing Crosby and others: Brother, Can You Spare A
Dime)

They used to tell me I write good verse,
And so I followed the mob.
When there was words to rhyme or songs to sing
I was always right there on the job.

They used to tell me I could fill a book
told me I had a golden pen.
So why should I get writers block
Just writing one poem?

Once I wrote a poem, made it a pun,
Never had a problem with a line.
Once I wrote a poem,
Had a lot of fun.
Brother can you spare a rhyme?

Once I wrote a poem, its no lie,
Never stumbled over meter one time.
Once I could write poetry
Easy as pie.
Brother, can you spare a rhyme?
