Plain & Simple is a Central Virginia Bluegrass band, the name best descibes the way they play bluegrass which is plain & simple, pure, straight and driving. They play a smooth traditional style of bluegrass with fresh and creative arrangements. Their music has been influenced by many legends such as the late Don Reno, Bill Monroe, Flatt and Scruggs, Doyle Lawson and the Bluegrass Cardinals. The group can easily perform a hard driving bluegrass song as well as a lonesome bluegrass ballad. The group also writes and performs some original material. Members of the group have played shows with such artists as Grand Ole Opry members Jim and Jesse and the Virginia Boys,The Lewis Family,The Lonesome River Band, the legendary Dr. Ralph Stanley and the Clinch Mountain Boys, Blue Highway, David Parmley and Continental Divide and the legendary gospel bluegrass great Doyle Lawson and Quicksilver.

Member Bio's:
Robert Overstreet:
Plays the banjo, lead guitar, fiddle and sings lead and harmony vocals. He has won many competitions such as 1st place banjo at the Maury River Fiddlers Convention several times as well as best all around bluegrass performer, 1st place Wintergreen Fiddle and Banjo Competition. He has also placed highly in the Galax Fiddlers Convention Banjo Competition. He is also a soulful accomplished singer. Robert resides in Big Island, VA.
Tony Overstreet:
Plays A Beard Resophonic guitar(R Body) and Rythum guitar, and sings lead and harmony vocals. He is equally solid on a driving dobro number such as Spanish Grass or a slower number such as Maiden's Prayer. He has won many awards with his fine dobro playing and is a fine stage MC. He sings the fire out of the old standards as well as the band's newer material. Tony resides in Sedalia, VA.
Wade Cox:
Plays the mandolin and rythym guitar on some songs. He sings lead and harmony vocals. He is equally at home with the old bluegrass standards or the newer bluegrass songs. He also writes some of the band's material. He can be found at many of the festival's late night jam sessions. He plays the mandolin in the old traditional style. Wade resides in Lynchburg, VA.
