Alex Kidd
Rating 96%
Ahh yes... original Sega masterpiece. The Kidd has it all! He can jump real high, hes a prince of a huge city, can turn into a ninja... need I go on? He's the original... And I think it would have been awesome if he would have had a final game on the Dreamcast. He's My favorite SMS Character and i'm stickin' to that.
Ability: He's a Shellcore Martial Arts Master and is almost unbeatable at Jenken. (If you dont know what "Jenken" is then I suggest you rent a SMS and any Alex Kidd game. Also you might want to try the episode of Dragonball called "Yamcha the Desert Bandit".)
Appears on: Sega Master System, Genesis. (only once :-(.)
Sonic The Hedgehog
Rating 101% (:-D)
YES!!! He's been my hero since I was 2 years old. (and hopefully yours.) He's got even more stuff than Alex Kidd. Atop his incredible speed and strength, he's very smart. He is master of the Spin Dash and the Light Speed Dash. Don't mess with the Blue or you will... will.. hm... something that rhymes with blue. I would direct this especially toward little fat plumbers that can barley jump.
Ability: Like I said this dude's got it all. Incredible speed, strength and intelligence. His speed tops everything though. He's also got an incredibly cool sidekick, Tails!
Appears on: Sega Master System, Genisis, Saturn, Dreamcast, Game Gear, Sega CD.
Cool Spot
Rating 80%
Cool Spot. He's cool but unfortunatley the people at Dr. Pepper/7up decided to sign him some Nintendo games. Yeech. I find the SMS version the best. One of the coolest things is the "Wipe-out"-like music. And 7up just happens to be my 2nd favorite drink (RC Cola being first)
Ability: He shoots little 7s. Not very intimidating but it gets rid of enimies.
Appears on: Sega Master System, Genisis, Game Gear, Saturn.(Spot goes to Hollywood)
Tails
Rating 100%
Tails might be the smartest video game character ever. He uses his two tails to fly like helicopter through the air. This comes in handy a LOT in Sonic 3. Hes a little slower than Sonic or Knuckles but he's smarter than both. He's also quite innovative. I found it a drag that he has to use that walker in Sonic Adventure 2.
Ability: He rotates his two tails extremely fast so that he can fly. His robot-walker in SA2 can shoot standard bullets or volkan cannons and missles.
Appears on: Sega Master System, Game Gear, Genisis, Saturn, Dreamcast, Sega CD.
Knuckles
Rating 99%
Knuckles made his first appearance in Sonic & Knuckles, where he was a bad and good guy. He's one of those mystical characters that has a clouded past. He's also the protector of the most powerful force in the world... The Master Emerald!!! The emerald has broken two times. (And guess who has to go find it?) In Sonic Adventure, it broke when Chaos was released from it. In Sonic Adventure 2 Knuckles himself broke the emerald to prevent it from being stolen by Rouge and Eggman.
Ability: He can dig into the ground, glide through the air (with the greatest of ease...) and has an Emerald radar.
Appears on: Genesis, Game Gear, Dreamcast, Sega CD.
Dr. Robotnik (a.k.a. Eggman)
Rating 97%
The orignal Sonic villian. This dude's got the amazing Death Egg, and his robot walker in Sonic Adventure 2. His appearance? Well thats why they call him Eggman. Yep. He's shaped like an egg. His physical abilities might not be good (at all) but his I.Q. being 300 more than makes up for that.
Ability: He has the "Death Egg" and a robot walker. And his I.Q. is over 300.
Appears on: Sega Master System, Game Gear, Genisis, Saturn, Sega CD, Dreamcast.
Amy
Rating 80%
Amy is a very annoying female hedgehog. I feel sorry for Sonic having to deal with her so much. Amy claims herself to be Sonic's girlfriend... but what do you expect from a girl that can barley jump, can't run, and has the I.Q. of a fresh-out-of-college girl? She can threaten to tag along Sonic if he dosen't do what she says... ouch.
Ability: She can scream really loud. Oh and she has a giant hammer. When she smacks something with it, pink hearts go everywhere. Pink.
Appears on: Dreamcast.
E 102-y "Gamma"
Rating 92%
E 102-y, or "Gamma", as Robotnik calls him is a very cool robot. Gamma has a little laser that locks on to opponents and shoots missles. Gamma is diffrent from the other E-Series robots in many ways. Gamma is much smarter than the other E-Series robots, and has an emotional brain. (I can tell ya what, he didn't get that from Eggman.) He might not be as aggressive as some of the others, but is certianly faster than them.
Ability: He can somewhat glide, he flys over water, and shoots very powerful cannon blasts.
Appears on: Dreamcast.
Lumina Flowlight
Rating 80%
Lumina is the little fairy that guides you through most of Sonic Shuffle. She's pink, but not as annoying as Amy. She plays a cruical role in Sonic Shuffle, being guardian of the Prescioustones and all...
Ability: She can fly. Thats about all, but she can sumon people into Maginary World. Hey, how else would Sonic, Tails, Amy and Knuckles have gotten there?
Appears on: Dreamcast.
Rouge the Bat
Rating 91%
I think Rouge is pretty cool. She has almost all of Knuckles' abilities and does martial arts. (that's one of the main reasons I think she's a good Sega asset.) And yes! The rumors are true! SHE HAS A CRUSH ON KNUCKLES!!!!
Ability: All of Knuckles' abilities. (Rouge has a cru-ush, Rouge has a cru-ush...)
Appears on: Dreamcast.
Olaf the Stout
Rating 95%
Olaf is my favorite character in my favorite Genesis games of all time. (The Lost Vikings) He has a great love of food, but is very endurant. He is also very funny. He might be the best viking in thier game, although he has no way of attacking.
Ability: He can raise or lower his mighty shield. He can hold it over his head and hang-glide by running off of something. This shield can block lasers, dinosaurs, cannonballs... the list goes on.
Appears on: Genesis.
Erik the Swift
Rating 95%
Erik is another character in "The Lost Vikings". He is the fastest and is the only one that can jump. He can be sarcastic, but dosent have to wory about Olaf or Baelog catching him, he's faster than both! He's very useful, but has no way of protecting himself. He's also the one that you almost always have to use to get the Gravity Boots in the last level in outer space. Also, he's the one that first discovers that they are on a spaceship.
Ability: He's the only one that can jump. he can jump on Olaf's shield and jump off it to get items and attack enimes. He also can runs so fast that if he bashes his head into something, that thing wil certainly break. He, however has no way of protecting himself.
Appears on: Genesis.
Baelog the Fierce
Rating 90%
Baelog is the last viking in "The Lost Vikings". He's the main attacker with his bow and arrow and his sword. However, like Erik, he has no way of protecting himself. He battles with Erik constantly over who is the leader. Olaf dosent really seem to care. He isn't very intelligent either. He's also slow, so he's one of the least used. (by me.) I rarley use him to get items. The only thing you find him that useful for is attacking enemies.
Ability: He can shoot enemies with his bow or can slice, dice, and julian them with his sword. He can also turn switches on or off by shooting them.
Appears on: Genesis.
