1. What is your position with The FanZCar?

Answer: I am the President and one of the Founders of SS Racing Inc. SS Racing Inc. is part of the racing industry and is committed to bringing new and exciting endeavors to the world of motor sports. The first endeavor launched is The FanZCar™ (The Fans Car), the first
and only fan-based primary sponsorship program for a race team within NASCAR. The monetary funds needed to generate the sponsorship for an entire racing season will be derived from membership sold by SS Racing Inc. for the FanZCar™. Important characteristics of this fan-based sponsorship will be to change the fans involvement, within the sport they love, from merely spectators to now participants. This will be accomplished by allowing the members/participating sponsors to be directly involved in decision typically associated with the sponsor. Such decision can/may include the determining of the racecars paint color/scheme, which team or teams we provide sponsorships for and what events we compete in, among others.

2. How did The FanZ Car come about, what made you and your partner (Eric Say) won’t to venture into something like this?

Answer: Eric and I are at our core big fans of racing, especially NASCAR. Below is a little story that I often share with people regarding our getting started with this innovative concept.
It was the Thursday in February before the beginning of the 2003 NASCAR Racing Series. My friend and I got together for a drink at one of our favorite sports bars. After the, hello how are you, the talked quickly changed to the excitement of the upcoming race. Not any race, but the beginning of another season, starting in Daytona. We talked
about the changes within the teams during the off season, who we thought had the best chances of winning and how we wished there was a way we could get more involved within NASCAR (other then simply being a fan). Then it happened. After our second drink (or was it our third; well that’s irrelevant) anyway it happened. Our vision
miraculously became very clear. There was a way to get more involved within the greatest spectator sport in the world. With all the changes in sponsors from year to year, and the lag in the economy that was keeping corporation from either entering or continuing their involvement within the sport; we would provide a fan-based sponsorship
for a team within NASCAR. This fan based sponsorship would allow the fans (including us, which now are up to four drinks with all the excitement we created) to get more involved within the sport. We would create a program that allowed all the loyal fans of NASCAR to participate within decisions and the interworking that goes on during
negotiations between a sponsor and a team. If we did this correctly, we could also insure that additional benefits, for members of our program, were also realized, all increasing our involvement within the sport and enriching our racing experience. The two fans I
talk about in this article are The FanZCar™ two founding partners, Eric Say and I (Scott Stricker). We started the journey and now invite YOU to join us in creating the most exciting sponsorship within the NASCAR Racing Series.

3. What is you background in racing?

Answer: I have watched racing since I was a child with my father. I grew up in a small town in Wisconsin and other than the watching and cheering for the Green Bay Packers there wasn’t much else to do, except watch racing as well. My fondest memories were watching Bill Elliot drive the Coors car to victory seemingly every week. Since then I have graduated college been very successful as an engineer and then moving into sales. Roughly six years ago, I decided to take my father to minimally one race each year. Every year we would select a different event and track, with the goal to allow my father to see as many tracks as possible. During this time with my father, both his and my
fascination with NASCAR grew. Today, I find myself talking and thinking more about racing than I do about my Green and Gold and if you have ever known a Packer fan before that is quite extraordinary.

4. What is the relationship The FanZ Car will have with Black Cat Racing during the 2004 season?

Answer: We are one of BCR primary sponsors throughout the 2004 Busch racing series. We will be the primary sponsor for ~10 events and a major associate for all others.

5. What are the team goals for the 2004 season?

Answer: The team’s goals are many. BCR is a new team this year and has many challenges not only in preparing the cars and engines but to build a team that will work well together. Also the driver is new to the series so there will be many tracks he hasn’t seen before.
Getting race setups and time at the tracks will ultimately be the team’s biggest challenge. Overcoming these challenges and finishing in the top 20 in points standing is the teams current goal. The FanZCar goal is to create more awareness for our program throughout this year. Our team’s performance will play a significant role in this but not the only role. We need to demonstrate credibility within our organization and the ability to offer our members truly unique benefits that elevates their involvement within the sport from being a spectator to a participant there-by enriching their racing experience. If we accomplish this goal our aggregate member base will grow allowing us to elevate our sponsorship position with a team. It has been the goal of The FanZCar to provide a sponsorship monetarily equal to that of any current corporate sponsor. So this year look for us to continue our branding campaign and make minimally one Nextel Cup appearance (as a major associate) as a precursor to moving to the Nextel Cup full time within the next several years.
