Starr could have full time ride in 05'

Davids Starr will have a 15-race trial in the NASCAR Busch series in 2004 for a possible full time ride in 2005. Starr and Michael Holigan have laid out the groundwork for a start up team. Though committed to a part-time Busch schedule, including an appearance at the O'Reilly 300 on April 3 at TMS, Starr said his No. 1 goal is to win the Craftsman Truck Series championship.

Spectrum Controls to be associate sponsor on No. 20 Busch team

Rockwell Automation announced today that Spectrum Controls would be an associate sponsor on the Rockwell Automation No. 20 NASCAR Busch Series Chevrolet Monte Carlo driven by Mike Bliss in 2004. "Spectrum Controls is thrilled to be associated with the winning team of
Rockwell Automation and Joe Gibbs Racing," said Bruce Wanta, President of Spectrum Controls. "We wish Mike Bliss a successful 2004 season." Rockwell and Spectrum already had an exsiting business relationship.

Van Alst Busch Series deal falls through

Greg Van Alst chance at a Busch Series ride with Jay Robinson Racing fell through. Van Alst was hoping to make his first start of the season at Rockingham behind the wheel of the No. 39 Ford Taurus, but details could not be worked out, leaving both headed separate ways.
Van Alst has a aponsor he is trying to bring to the United States and into NASCAR.

SPORT CLIPS & MIKE WALLACE LOOK TO BLOW BY COMPETITION

Biagi Bros. Racing and driver Mike Wallace announced today a partnership with Sport Clips Inc. Biagi Bros. Racing and Sport Clips have teamed up for the O’Reilly 300 at Texas Motor Speedway on Saturday, April 3rd and the Colorado 250 at Pikes Peak International Raceway on Saturday, July 31st. Sport Clips will also join GEICO as a co-primary sponsor for the Carquest Auto Parts 300 on Friday, May 29th and the “Little Trees” 300 on Saturday, October 15th. Sports Clips will be an associate sponsor for the remaining 30 races on the 2004 NASCAR Busch Series schedule.

DCT Motorsports to run 29 Busch Races

John McGill and Carl Natale, owners of DCT Motorsports, have committed to running at least 29 NASCAR Busch Series races this season, beginning with the 300-miler at Daytona (Fla.) International Speedway. The car will be driven by Steve Grissom and the crew chief will be Ricky Pearson. This all began as a test program in 2003 and has developed into a strong NASCAR Busch Series racing effort for 2004.

Crosby named driver of the No. 13 BCR Car

Black Cat Racing has named Kim Crosby as the driver of the No. 13 entry effective immediately. Crosby landed the ride after Conrad Burr changed his plans in order to pursue other opportunities.

What I am hearing is the reason Conrad Burr left BCR is he and Rhea Fain had a difference of opinion on the speedway car. I have not been able to confirm this but I will kepp you updated as I get them.

Grubb gets at least part time ride for 04'

Kevin Grubb will run at least 10 races in the 2004 NASCAR Busch Series season. Grubb has signed a contract to team with Bobby Hamilton Jr. at Team Rensi Motorsports. Sponsors and events he will race have not been announced. Charles Wright will serve as the crew chief for Grubb.

Leffler fastest in afternoon test

Jason Leffler paced the field Tuesday afternnon in NASCAR Busch Series testing at Daytona. Leffler who had a spped of 179.261 mph was faster than the second fastest Kyle Busch by about a half of mph. Busch's speed was178.731 mph. Busch was followed by Robby Gordon at 178.664 mph.

Leffler leads Busch test

Testing resumed Tuesday Morning for the NASCAR Busch Series teams. Jason Leffler paced the field with a speed of 179.662 mph. That speed was over a mile per hour better than second fastest Kyle Busch who had a speed of 178.511 mph, Busch was followed by Ron Hornaday who had a speed of 178.267 mph to finish third.

Busch Series to tweak points

The NASCAR Busch Series will announce today a tweaking of the points for the 2004 season. The winner of a Busch Series race will receive a few extra points.
