Coaches Corner
The retirement party for Coach Hall is over. With mixed emotions, Coach Hall was unable to sleep, so he wrote the following note.
It's 4:48 in the morning and I can not sleep, as my
head is filled with the many memories that were evoked
from last nights party or was that this mornings
party.(Since I left the Captains Table at 1:00 A.M.)
It was so very thoughtful for all of you (cross
country, track and basketball) to be there to wish me
well in my retirement.
As I watched many of you go from fragile, unsure
freshman to self confident seniors, it always gave me
great pride. And now as I look at you mature (well
most of you!) adults, I hope that in some small way I
helped that process along.
As the stories were told and experiences relived (
although I think some were greatly exaggerated, could
I really have done all those terrible things, maybe!)
I think you have lost sight of the fact that it was
all of you who also influenced my life. Without your
drive, your hard work, your determination, your
effort, your ability to push the limits of your mind
and body, your willingness to find out about yourself,
we would not have been as successfull as we were.
As the tears stream down my face and I think about
the past 34 years of my life.
I Want to thank all of you for believing in me, our
teams, our program and our tradition. For it will
always be about each and everyone of you, from the 1st
person on our teams to the last that made it so.
I love you all!!!!!!
