Carla's Affordable Computers
Carla Morales, owner of "Carla's Affordable Computers" was given the Channel 7 "Everyday Hero" award on December 1, 2000 for her volunteering efforts in Colorado. She rebuilds computers at no cost for schools, low-income families, churches, daycare centers throughout the state of Colorado and is presently teaching at the Mi Casa Resource Center for Women in Denver. She is teaching single parent women, to build their own computer systems and learn all aspects of the hardware and software. She just recently won the National Award for Community Service at the annual "Women of Color in Technology" conference in Atlanta, GA.
