We have learned that some English words do not translate well to Chinese and vice-versa. In the beginning of our courtship, this created a few ¡°interesting¡± moments, but with much patience and listening on both our parts, we overcame all. We did learn that it is possible for an English speaking person to say what will sound like a very innocent phrase and have it taken completely the opposite way when translated to Chinese. What we hope to do for people is to avoid that type of situation. When we translates something, it is proof-read by both a Chinese and English speaking person to make sure that there is no misunderstanding of what may have been implied in a letter. We will make sure that a simple and endearing statement is not taken out of context. We can also give you advice to better express your thoughts and feelings in a letter without losing any of your meaning.
Normal translation time is about 24 hours since we both will proof read a letter to eliminate any cultural and sentence structure mistakes. We will make many suggestions for you as you communicate with a Chinese lady or Western man so as not to make simple mistakes because of cultural differences. A Chinese woman is nothing like the average Western woman and neither is a Western man like the average Chinese man. We do recognize that both the man and the woman will need advice so as not to confuse things that were said in complete innocence.
