Hello everyone, my name is Michelle Leon and I am 21 years old. I was diagnosed with Lupus at the age of 13. I have been in and out of the hospital and in, not out of pain. Pain and fatigue are a part of my everyday life just as brushing my teeth, etc. I have had hemolytic anemia, ITP and now cerebral vasculitus. In addition to that I have Neuritis (sorry for the spelling errors, you have to pretty much be a doc to spell everything correct). I was on 60mg of prednisone a day and thank the Lord I am off of it again. It's so hard to be ill and gain so much weight when your friends are not sick and can do anything and everything their little hearts desire. Then, to top it off, when strangers make fun of you because you are fat, or when you are asked a numerous amount of times how many months pregnant you are. I know that the people don’t know any better because 9 times out of 10 times the woman would be pregnant, so you tell yourself "it's ok he/she doesn't know" but it still tears your heart out over and over again. And, the stretch marks don't let you forget for one minute that you are not any normal teenager, you are a sick one and that you can't do anything about it, it just sucks. I know that things could be worse but why do bad things have to happen to good people. I mean murderers keep on murdering and rapists keep on raping, while in the interim good-hearted people are getting sicker and sicker. It really is Food for Thought. I also know that this sounds like a feel sorry for me posting, but that is not at all what it is or what it is intended for. I just want people to know that they are never alone because there is always God to help you thru anything. If He brought it upon you, He will surely get you thru it. In addition to that, not only will He get you thru it, you have to be strong and be willing and never ever give up. Well, it is so nice to know that people such as ourselves have a place that we may go to and post a message for everyone to read at anytime we like.
