'A MOTHER'S LOVE'

"A MOTHER'S LOVE"

=-= JOYCE =-=

"In a large mansion lived a wealthy family with a beautiful daughter Joyce. Highly educated and accomplished in manners she was a favorite in the best of Society. She was flattered and sought for her charms. But alas, hers was the same old story over again. On the brink of womanhood she fell into disgrace. Her proud and haughty Father told her she must leave home, never to return. Joyce's Mother although of a proud nature, still was tenderhearted and plead with her Husband not to be so harsh, but he would not give in. Kissing her Mother good bye and bidding her home forever adieu she left the scenes of her childhood and of her girlhood. How the memories flooded over her! Bewildered as where to go she started walking down the road until at last she came to a large bridge. Standing there for a moment watching the blue waves as they rippled over the waters an inspiration suddenly came to her. Why not end it all, thought the broken hearted girl. There was nothing to live for. as she started to give a leap for the water a voice behind startled her and turning around she looked into the sneering face of the boy that was the cause of her shame, puffing at a cigarette. Don't do that he said. But I have no where to go my Father has drove me from home. What else shallI do? I know where you can go he said. So saying he gave her an address that was a home in the Red Light District of the city. There she lived dealing in Sin day after day. Years went by. The Father of Joyce had long died. The gray haired Mother left alone would often wondered where her lovely Daughter was that she longed so to see. At last her longing became so great she began daily to inquire. In some way she discovered her Daughter was in the The Red Light District. She came at last to the gate that you entered there. Pausing, this Woman of culture looked at the mass of filthy looking men and women. How could she send a message to her girl? Over the gate was an arch and across this arch she wrote four words. MOTHER LOVES YOU YET. Coming from the city to the district Joyce slowly dragged her tired feet along. Memories of her dear, loving Mother would come to her. Something caused her to glance upward. The setting suns crimson ray fell over the arch causing the words to shine forth with a brilliant light as Joyce read the words slowly. MOTHER LOVES YOU YET. Why, that was her Mothers handwriting! Could her Mother have written that? Did her Mother still Love her after all these years? Yes, no one but her Mother could write like that. If that was so she would return home and seek for forgiveness. Trudging wearily along she at last came to her beautiful home. Sinking on the back steps she asked the Servant to see the Mistress. Joyce's Motherwas entertaining guests in the drawing room. But she came to see if she could help maybe some Tramp as she gazed down at the girl in pity it seemed there was something familiar in that dejected figure. When the girl turned her head and looked into her Mother's face with tear stained eyes the Mother instantly recognized her long lost Joyce! Clasping her Daughter to her in a close embrace the long years of sorrow and shame were forgotten in that one moment of forgiveness. She led her up to her room where it had remained untouched and dressing her in the clothes that were still hanging as she left them. Joyce's Mother led her then downstairs and introduced her to her Society friends, as her Daughter that had been away."

"Since the Angels took my Mother home to Heaven life has been so very sad and lonely to me. But I'm trusting in the God she Loved so well and some day my Mother's face again I'll see. Swiftly now they pass the mill stones one by one. By and by the Glory Gates with joy I'll see. Then among rejoicing friends in that Sweet Home, will my own Dear MOTHER gladly welcome me."

(I, PPT found this "hand written" note that POP says "this is your Mother's writings" so today August 31st, 2009 I decided to make a Family Home Page for this wonderful, precious piece of MaMa's life. I tried to type it as I read it so allow for me there OK. I gave the "original hand written papers" of Mama's writing to my Sister Presteen B. Thomas.

"HUGS CAN CHEER YOU UP"

It's wondrous what a hug can do,

A hug can cheer you when you are blue.

A hug can say, "I Love You So."

Or, "Gee! I hate to see you go".

A hug is, "Welcome back again."

This Hug Is Meant For You.

A hug can soothe a small child's pain,

And bring a rainbow after rain.

The hug! There's just no doubt about it,

We scarcely could survive without it.

A hug delights and warms and charms,

It must be why GOD gave us arms.

Hugs are great for Fathers, Mothers,

And Grand Pops and Grand Mothers,

Sweet for Sisters, and swell for Brothers,

And chances are some Uncles and Aunts,

Love them more than potted plants.

Kittens crave them. Puppies love them.

Heads of State are not above them.

A hug can break the language barrier,

And make the dullest day seem merrier.

No need to fret about the store of them,

The more you give, the more there are of them.

So stretch those arms without delay,

And give someone a BIG HUG today.
