'SEA WEED'

In the summer of 2006 I purchased another Carver Mariner 28 in the form of a 1976 , all fiberglass 2896 model called "SEA WEED".
She was in beautiful condition and has had the same caring owner for the last 20 years.
The Sea Weed is powered by twin 351 Fords with Warner V drives.
She was transported by road from Maryland USA to Montreal where she now graces the great inland waters of Canada.
My wife and I along with our family, plan to spend as much time as we can enjoying the wonderful Eastern Canadian summer just river cruising and relaxing on board her.
I am the third owner but the previous owner had fastidiously owned and maintained her since 1986.
She has always been in Maryland, USA, cruising the famous Chesapeake Bay giving hours of enjoyment to her owners.
The hours when I purchased her were just over 900 since new with re powering of both her engines being carried out in 1986. She had the original 302 Ford Pleasure craft engines replaced with brand new 351 Ford Marine engines.
The transmissions are Warner V drives swinging two 16 x 17 Brass propellers.
She has two 60 US gallon fuel tanks and a 25 US gallon fresh water tank.
Inside there is a full galley with alcohol / electric stove, AC/DC fridge/freezer, Hot and cold water in galley and bathroom, hot and cold shower, air conditioning and I have just fitted a new toilet.
The convertible dinette lounge can seat four to five adults around the table and three more on the convertible couch.
Sleeping arrangements are a forward double V bunk with privacy curtaining to the galley and in the main lounge area the couch converts to two over and under single bunks with the table area converting to another double bunk.
The engine bay below the aft cockpit area is protected by a Halon automatic fire extinguisher system.
There is a full array of instrumentation and navigational aids including VHF and GPS twin compass's and sounders.
The tender is a ten foot Achilles inflatable with a 6 HP Cruise N Carry outboard.
With plenty of on board storage and seating , this is the perfect family cruiser and I am hoping to have many years of enjoyment for myself and my family from her.
