Jesus the Christ has always been my dearest most trusted Guide and Teacher. How often we forget the great gift of the Comforter...the Holy Spirit which he promised would be available at all times. The following is my favorite reference to the Comforter, the Spirit of Christ:
...I would like to read a message given to you thousands of years ago from an old friend of yours named Jesus. He was speaking at the time when He knew that He would be leaving the physical plane and, because of His great love, wanted to leave something behind. He was speaking to His close friends:
"And I will pray to the Father and He will give you another Comforter, that He may abide with you forever. It is the Spirit of Truth Whom the world cannot receive because it sees Him not, neither can it know Him. But you will know Him, for He dwelleth with you and shall be in you. I will not leave you comfortless. But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in My Name, He shall teach you all things and bring all things to your remembrance. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid, for I am with you always."
There are those moments of your sorrow when you know that you cannot speak the truth or you cannot overcome your self-pity because of some fear that is within you. Somehow this moment of this day, you just don't have the necessary opening to be able to come up to your own high standards. It is at this juncture that I would ask you to deeply consider the gift we have just discussed.
