I have been a Registered Nurse for over 33 years and added the skills of an MA in Transpersonal/Jungian Psychology from Naropa University, 14 years ago. What a blessing this calling has offered me, the opportunity to be of service in a spiritual and practical way.
AMYOTROPHIC LATERAL SCLEROSIS (click link for more information) also known as Lou Gehrig's Disease & ALS, has been the highlight of my nurse healer work.
Jean Shinoda Bolen in her book Close To The Bone, Life Threatening Illness and the Search For Meaning, says....at the soul level, an illness, even a terminal one, is a POTENTIAL BEGINNING, A LIMINAL TIME WHEN WE ARE BETWEEN THE ORDINARY WORLD AND THE INVISIBLE ONE."
Experience has shown me that ALS can be a powerful agent of transformation, bringing profound insight, reconciliation and self-awareness. Skillful use of BiPAP, nutrition, symptom management, dream work, music and relaxation techniques work together to enhance quality of life. I offer the "ministry of presence," walking with you into the time of near death awareness and on through the moments when you leave your physical body.
