AI-A-1 Robot

Last modified on 8/6/04

Hello my name is Mike Merryfield, I am creating a Robot using a Radio Shack project box. I have used many of the circuts from DiscoverCircuts.com with my ideas for AI-A-1.

This Robot is still being constucted so if you have any ideas please send them to me. When AI-A-1 is complete I will try to get it manufactured, that means you might be able to buy it.

Sorry if you wanted schematics of this robot, but because I am being cheep I found a free web hosting/creation site that provids images only if you pay $5.00 per month. Being only a 15 year old kid I was satisified with no images, so E-Mail me if you want the schematics. p.s. I will give you what I got so far. I will try to get back to you in at least two days with my answers to your questions/and or comments. Yes I did say that I was only 15 years old.
If you were wondering what AI-A-1 stands for i will tell you. The AI stands for Artificial Intellegence. The A stands for Alpha, and the 1 stands for the first edition.

I will build two digital thermometer curcits to monitor the internal temp to prevent IC damage, and the external air temperature. A battery charge indicator LED(external) to see the current batteries' power level. There will also be a circut that I still have to design which switches to a different battery when the preceding battery is dead, it then begins a solar recharging process. AI-A-1 will be able to move around my house with out hitting any thing whitst using a proximidy dector for looking forward. I will build a "antenna" senser to prevent hitting objects when AI-A-1 makes a turn. Finally I have just discovered how to create a "ballance" effect using a washer and some wires. First solder one wire to a washer, the other end solder to a relay coil. Next cut off 1/3 of an empty soda can and solder another wire to it.(make sure it is the opposite polarity of the washer) When the washer touches the soda can it activates the relay coil to stop then go in reverse until it is stable(not touching the can)

Friday August 6 2004--I went to Radio Shack to buy a 8x6x3 in project box along with two High Speed 9-18VDC motors. One Motor=$5.29 One project box=$6.99
I bought two motors. the total cost=18.47
