Show Details
Band intro followed by Silver Tongue, then Woman From Tokyo. The audience sings happy birthday to Ian Paice with Don and Steve playing along prior to I've Got Your Number, good version. Gillan yells "Hey Scooter how ya doin mate" at the end. Good swinging version of Strange Kind of Woman with great solos from Steve and Don. A rousing version of Bananas ends with Gillan asking someone in the audience their name. Knockin' At Your Back Door is next then Gillan tries to do his intro for Contact Lost but cuts it short due to audience noise. Steves solo (some good shredding here) and the Well Dressed Guitar follow.

Don Aireys Solo includes some Chopin and the Polish National Anthem, as well as the Star Wars Theme. A powerful rendition of Perfect Strangers is next. Highway Star is prequeled with Gillan waxing lyrical about a Panasonic electric pencil Sharpener and 4 ring binders!! Paint It Black is played at the intro to Highway Star by Steve. "This is what holds mountains up" introduces Lazy great Hammond work from Don and great solos from Steve and Don throughout. The song ends with a short Ian Paice drum solo "Birthday Boy ..Nice one Ian"

When A Blind Man Cries, introduces as a blues, slows the tempo but is a worth it for this fabulous version. Some beautiful playing from Steve underpinning Gillans vocals. Steves solo is restrained and very effective. A true highlight.
"Originally this was written for the first steps into space" introduces Space Truckin' which is short sharp and to the point. Smoke On The Water ends the set.
Hush and Black Night follow with Rogers solo, Hit The Road Jack.

A fantastic show.
