Highway Star ends with Gillan saying "That was what it was" He says "Hallo there" three times before the start of SKOW.And introduces the song as "this is about my first marriage". Silver Tongue has the usual Blarney Stone references but adds "If you place yourself on the Blarney Stone you might get a little interuptus from the Silver Tongue". KAYBD is introduced with "this is exactly the same effect but you just shuffle a little forward which makes the whole thing entirely illegal, but it's nice" Gillan says "Gotta get these things the right way up" prior to his mouth organ solo before a nice improvised riff from Morse enhances the HOP intro.
"Imagine you're on a Safari" follows the winter duvet and tentpole comments prior to Lazy. Brilliant version of this, great solos from Steve.
"Oh well" is the only comment from Gillan prior to a storming version of Bananas. Contact Lost introduced, as usual, with the story of STS -107. Straight into Space Truckin', which is unusual. Great intro from Steve. "We'd been married for 3 years when I was 12 years old and I suddenly realised what was going on..so we wrote this song..last year" precedes IGYN. Good solo from Don here. Steve's solo prior to TWDG is awesome. Don's solo spot follows with Deutschland Uber Alles played on the piano, Star Wars brings in Perfect Strangers. Another powerful version here. No intro straight into Smoke. Encores follow with Gillan trying to introduce his "famous tambourine solo" but is drowned out by the band. Fabulous solos from Steve and Don on Hush. Black Night follows with Fever, Hit The Road Jack et al..."Unbelievable, superb, fantastic, we love you byebye." Great show.
