Show Details
This was Purples first visit to the Emerald Isle and the first date on a new Tour.
A rapturous welcome was returned by a tremendous performance from the band.
Gillan gives us a namecheck at the end of Woman From Tokyo. Ted The Mechanic is followed by Mary Long then a dreadful balls up at the begining of Lazy causes all sorts of problems but they eventually sort it out. Child In Time follows with no backing tapes and a powerful perofrmance from Gillan. Steves solo is electric. The whole thing ends with Gillan announcing "we haven't played that for 10 years" The audience roar there approval.

No One Came, one of my favorites is up next, very funky and powerful, then the tempo slows for The Aviator. Steve entertains with his Well Dressed Guitar then its on to Fools.

Gillan introduces Up The Wall (Which eventually will become I've Got Your Number)as a song that "hasn't been recorded yet...probably has been now.."
Jon Lords solo is followed by Perfect Strangers. A very cool When a Blind Man Cries is a show highlight among highlights.
Steves Riff Raff leads us to a storming Smoke on The Water. Speed King is breathtaking superb playing from the whole band.
Encores of Hush and Highway Star end the show. "Thank you Dublin goodnight bye bye..."A fantastic show.
