SAUNDERS FAMILY REUNION 2006

A Few Words about Family

I would like to welcome everyone here tonight, the Raleigh Chapter of our family is proud to host this reunion and this banquet.First let me say thank you.
Thank you for traveling as far as you did to attend these events. It is not always easy, nor convenient or affordable, but it is important that families stay in contact.Families are the fabric and the foundation of this country. The bonds that we make and keep are the legacy and testament to all who come before us and for our children. Every year we lose some family and every year we gain some more. We have lost some great people this year, but our charge is to carry on this family's traditions, values and strength as they would want us to do. And there is strength in the family, and in THIS family. Every family has celebrations and challenges, trials and tribulations. Family will always be there, through thick and thin. Always. This foundation of support and brotherhood is the reason we celebrate tonight. I ask you to remember all of our great mothers and fathers, sisters and brothers, uncles and aunts that have passed. They are still here, though, in all of us. Look around at all the faces and you will see a glimpse of all the wonder that they have left us. Reflected in our eyes, words and prayers, they will live on in each of us. Though they may be gone, we continue the Saunders Legacy here tonight. I am proud to be a Saunders. Thank you. MARTIN SAUNDERS
