WEBSITE LAST UPDATED September 18, 2011.

Thank you for stopping by the MerryMakers' website.

Maddie had SIX beautiful puppies Sept 17, 4 girls, 2 boys, ready for forever homes just before Thanksgiving, 2011. Only two are spoken for at this time. We will have 3 more litters spring and summer of 2012. Please contact us if you wish to be placed on a wait list for a MerryMaker Papillon puppy as we are forming our wait list now for our fall 2011 puppies and spring 2012 puppies. We do, also, have older papillons available to pet homes from time to time.

Also, a friend of ours has two darling papillon puppies, champion-sired, ready to go to forever homes in September, 2011. Please call Marian at 541-818-0054 for pictures and info on these puppies (she is in Oregon).

Papillons are elegant, beautiful, intelligent, social little butterflies. Awesome dogs with a big heart, they are exotic show stoppers, though their natural intelligence can make them a challenge. They will charm you with their comical antics and overwhelm you with their love. There is no doubt that they cherish their humans. The oldest living toy dog, dating back to the 12th century and a favorite of the French Royal Court, they are both hearty & elegant, fun-loving & adoring...but they are not for everyone. If you are thinking about adopting a papillon, we welcome you to come and meet our pack of MerryMakers, have some coffee, and chat with us to see if they would suit your lifestyle. We would be happy to talk with you if you have papillon questions, and to answer any questions you might have about ourselves and our dogs.

MerryMaker Papillons live within our home as spoiled family members. They routinely visit nursing homes to snuggle with the residents. We do show them as time and/or finances allow (although it has been several years now). MerryMaker papillons pedigrees' contain many well-known champions from many countries...and it shows in the puppies we produce. We strive to produce genetically sound, intelligent, heathy pups with beguiling outgoing personalities and a great temperament. Our goal is to produce excellent representations of this beautiful little butterfly dog.

We follow our pups development after they are placed, and encourage our puppy owners to return for papillon play days and barbecues, or to just stop by and visit. Many of our puppy owners become fast friends from these play dates. It is great fun. We are always available for questions for our puppy owners.

Papillons are the ONLY dogs we breed. We take breeding our papillons very seriously, they are the love of our lives and we are very passionate about them.

We have puppies available off and on throughout the year to approved homes for pet, show, or breeding. All parents are vet evaluated annually for any health issues and CERF tested every one to two years against many eye diseases including PRA. Our girls are only bred once yearly, and they are not bred into their older years. Our puppies have a one year health guarantee from date of purchase against genetic health issues. Pups are well socialized and live inside our home just like all our adult dogs. ALL dew claws are removed, shots and worming are done appropriate to the puppy's age, and pups are microchipped (at buyer's request). Your puppy comes with a large educational notebook we have put together about papillons, a starter food kit, a toy, plus pictures of your puppy as it grew (on disc). We are there for our puppy owners for lifetime advice.

Prices are $1,000.00 to $1,200.00 for pet puppies (sold on spay/neuter contract, limited AKC) and $1,500.00 to $1,800.00 for show/breeding puppies (full AKC)...sometimes less if the puppy is older... plus shipping and crate cost if required. More pictures are available upon inquiry (for instance, stacking the puppies).

A quick FYI...when we sell a puppy as a pet on a spay/neuter contract...though sometimes a puppy may be too large, too small or a mismark so unable to be a show candidate in the conformation ring...many times those puppies we place as pets are actually puppies with show potential. We do not push to sell puppies into show homes. What is important to us is that the puppy stay with its forever family and be a happy pampered pet. If we do not have a show home waiting, but we receive a wonderful pet home inquiry, then they get that show potential puppy on a limited AKC pet contract...we do NOT hang onto the puppy hoping a show or breeding home will come along so we can make a few hundred more dollars. We believe puppies should be placed in homes by a certain age to help with the people bonding process. We do love seeing our dogs doing well in agility, rally, or conformation shows...but getting them shown is not our first priority.

We will, however, work with people wanting to show or breed...as long as the puppy is to live INSIDE the home as a family member...not in a kennel.

You can reach us by phone at 360-978-4990 (PST) or e-mail Joni or Terry Meryhew at jandtmeryhew@wwestsky.net or merrymakerpapillons@wwestsky.net with any questions.

We are located in the beautiful northwest state of Washington, midway between Seattle, Washington and Portland, Oregon (90 minutes to either city), along Interstate 5.

We do not accept deposits. Should a 'love match' occur, we will take you at your word. We do NOT want our puppies placed in a home simply because someone did not want to lose their deposit money. Again...it is not about the money for us. We want these puppies being spoiled in wonderful loving forever homes. If you have doubts...then most likely that particular puppy is not the right puppy for you.

Please be prepared to answer some questions about your home and lifestyle. We are very particular where our puppies go and how they will be living, and do not sell to just anyone with money or with no questions asked. This does not mean you will not be a good home for our puppy. It just means that after all the blood, sweat, tears and love we put into them, (and many sleepless nights with whelping)...we want the very best forever homes for them. We get very attached. We do not breed for a living. We are hobby breeders. My husband and I each have careers,....this allows us to be selective where our MerryMaker puppies are placed,...we are so glad for this because so far we have had great success with 'happy pappy' owners in love with their puppies.

We welcome you to write in our guest book (now up and running again after losing all of them) as we value each guests' comments after visiting our web site. You also might find it informative to read what people who have purchased MerryMaker puppies from us in the past have been kind enough to write there.

For puppies currently available please check out our gallery under "MerryMaker puppies awaiting homes" - if you click on the picture in the gallery 12 more pictures will appear and you can slide show them....if we do not have puppies currently, you may want to be placed on our wait list.

We try our very hardest to make sure each puppy is fitted to the needs and desires of its forever family and so far we have a 100% success rate with placement. We do puppy personality profiles at 5 weeks of age...and we feel that really helps people to pick the puppy that suits their lifestyle.

We encourage potential puppy buyers to contact our vet and former puppy buyers if you want references on us (or, as mentioned above, to read our guest book comments from former puppy buyers). We greatly enjoy sharing our love of papillons and look forward to hearing from you.

Again, thank you so much for stopping by.

Sincerely, Joni & Terry Meryhew & 'The Papillon MerryMakers'.
