THE BIRTH AND ORIGIN OF BABYLON THE GREAT
Rom 9:6 Not as though the word of God hath taken none effect. For they are not all Israel, which are of Israel:
From the day that God took His people out of Egypt, all they did was sin against HIm. While they journied in the wilderness for 40 years they took with them their idols by keeping many of the Egyptian traditions. This is why God told them...
Amo 5:21 I hate, I despise your feast days, and I will not smell in your solemn assemblies. 22 Though ye offer me burnt offerings and your meat offerings, I will not accept them: neither will I regard the peace offerings of your fat beasts. 23 Take thou away from me the noise of thy songs; for I will not hear the melody of thy viols. 24 But let judgment run down as waters, and righteousness as a mighty stream 25 Have ye offered unto me sacrifices and offerings in the wilderness forty years, O house of Israel? 26 But ye have borne the tabernacle of your Moloch and Chiun your images, the star of your god, which ye made to yourselves.
Act 7:43 Yea, ye took up the tabernacle of Moloch, and the star of your god Remphan, figures which ye made to worship them: and I will carry you away beyond Babylon.
Many kept the Babylonian ways, very few kept God's ways, like the young reforming king Hezekiah, who came to the throne of Judah in the late 8th century BC:
2Ki 18:3 And he [Hezekiah] did that which was right in the sight of the LORD, according to all that David his father did.
2Ki 18:4 He removed the high places, and brake the images, and cut down the groves, and brake in pieces the brasen serpent that Moses had made: for unto those days the children of Israel did burn incense to it: and he called it Nehushtan. 5 He trusted in the LORD God of Israel; so that after him was none like him among all the kings of Judah, nor any that were before him. 6 For he clave to the LORD, and departed not from following him, but kept his commandments, which the LORD commanded Moses. 7 And the LORD was with him; and he prospered whithersoever he went forth: and he rebelled against the king of Assyria, and served him not.
Nehushtan means "a worthless piece of brass". According to sources, in the Torah, the creation of a bronze snake (the Nehustan) is attributed to Moses. The story of the copper serpent Nehushtan, as described in Numbers 21:5-9, may safely be given the authorship from the writing which gives the sanction of Moses to this image.[1] The story states that the Israelites were complaining about their problems in the desert somewhere near Punon. God, angered at their lack of faith and ungratefulness, sent poisonous snakes among them as punishment. It then goes on to describe Moses, who had prayed in order to intercede on their behalf, being told by God to make a brass snake so that the Israelites merely had to look upon it to be cured from the snake bites. The Book of Numbers provides an origin for an archaic bronze serpent associated with Moses (Numbers 21:4-9).
It has been suggested that Hezekiah's destruction of the Nehushtan was a result of the balance of power moving towards Assyria, who permitted him to remain on the throne of Judah as a puppet ruler. Hezekiah demonstrated his loyalty to the new regime by the destruction of an important symbol with Egyptian associations.
In the Bible, Jesus compared His own person and the crucifixion to Nehushtan, probably to show how He would sacrifice Himself for the world.
Referring to His forthcoming crucifixion, Jesus said "As Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life" (John 3:14-15). Amongst conservative Christians and Jews, the healing is not attributed to the snake itself. The snake is thought to have been a representation of the punishment and the repentance of the Children of Israel.
When God rescude them from under the power of the Egyptians, when they were naked and bare, He cleansed them and clothed them with His glory.
Eze 16:1 Again the word of the LORD came unto me, saying, 2 Son of man, cause Jerusalem to know her abominations, 3 And say, Thus saith the Lord GOD unto Jerusalem; Thy birth and thy nativity is of the land of Canaan; thy father was an Amorite, and thy mother an Hittite. 4 And as for thy nativity, in the day thou wast born thy navel was not cut, neither wast thou washed in water to supple thee; thou wast not salted at all, nor swaddled at all. 5 None eye pitied thee, to do any of these unto thee, to have compassion upon thee; but thou wast cast out in the open field, to the lothing of thy person, in the day that thou wast born. 6 And when I passed by thee, and saw thee polluted in thine own blood, I said unto thee when thou wast in thy blood, Live; yea, I said unto thee when thou wast in thy blood, Live.
Eze 16:9 Then washed I thee with water; yea, I throughly washed away thy blood from thee, and I anointed thee with oil.
Eze 16:14 And thy renown went forth among the heathen for thy beauty: for it was perfect through my comeliness, which I had put upon thee, saith the Lord GOD.
But when pride filled them, they turned back to their Babylonian ways [Eze 23:15] that caused them to sin agains God.
Eze 16:15 But thou didst trust in thine own beauty, and playedst the harlot because of thy renown, and pouredst out thy fornications on every one that passed by; his it was. 16 And of thy garments thou didst take, and deckedst thy high places with divers colours, and playedst the harlot thereupon: the like things shall not come, neither shall it be so. 17 Thou hast also taken thy fair jewels of my gold and of my silver, which I had given thee, and madest to thyself images of men, and didst commit whoredom with them, 18 And tookest thy broidered garments, and coveredst them: and thou hast set mine oil and mine incense before them. 19 My meat also which I gave thee, fine flour, and oil, and honey, wherewith I fed thee, thou hast even set it before them for a sweet savour: and thus it was, saith the Lord GOD. 20 Moreover thou hast taken thy sons and thy daughters, whom thou hast borne unto me, and these hast thou sacrificed unto them to be devoured. Is this of thy whoredoms a small matter, 21 That thou hast slain my children, and delivered them to cause them to pass through the fire for them? 22 And in all thine abominations and thy whoredoms thou hast not remembered the days of thy youth, when thou wast naked and bare, and wast polluted in thy blood. 23 And it came to pass after all thy wickedness, (woe, woe unto thee! saith the Lord GOD;)
Eze 16:24 That thou hast also built unto thee an eminent place, and hast made thee an high place in every street. 25 Thou hast built thy high place at every head of the way, and hast made thy beauty to be abhorred, and hast opened thy feet to every one that passed by, and multiplied thy whoredoms. 26 Thou hast also committed fornication with the Egyptians thy neighbours, great of flesh; and hast increased thy whoredoms, to provoke me to anger.
What God is telling them here is that when they opened their doors to the heathen and mingled their blood with them by taking them into marriege, they have poluted the glory that God clothed them with because by "their own pride" the caused the spread of false religions and man made corrupt governments.
The ways they have adopted from the Babylonians are also mentioned in the book of Zehariah. This is the "base", the unstable ground/rock of their dwelling that they have created with all their false religions and man made governments that do not represent God and His ways.
God revealed to Zechariah in (Zechariah 5:7), The Mystery of the woman of Babylon The Great, and her name is "Wickedness". There dwell those who are partakers of her sins, man made governments and churches that do not represend God and His ways.
Zec 5:9 Then lifted I up mine eyes, and looked, and, behold, there came out two women, and the wind was in their wings; for they had wings like the wings of a stork: and they lifted up the ephah [basket] between the earth and the heaven. 10 Then said I to the angel that talked with me, Whither do these bear the ephah [basket]? 11 And he said unto me, To build it an house [a temple] in the land of Shinar [Babylonia]: and it shall be established, and set there upon her own base [false religions and governments].
Rev 17:17 For God hath put in their hearts to fulfil his will, and to agree, and give their kingdom unto THE BEAST, until the words of God shall be fulfilled.
WHAT IS GODS WILL?
God's will for us is to choose life over death by showing us in the scriptures that the final results of "His ways" are blessings of eternal life, and that the final results of "our ways" our cursings that lead us to our own deaths.
Deu 30:19 I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore CHOOSE LIFE, that both thou and thy seed may live:
Since God gave us "free will" from the day we were created, He agrees with whatever choices we make by allowing us to choose who we want to serve, as He did with Adam and Eve. This is why God placed in the midst of The Garden of Eden two trees, The Tree of Life and The Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil, and told Adam that on the day he partakes of the forbitten fruit of the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil, he will die. God did not forbid Adam to partake of the fruit from The Tree of Life because the fruit of the Tree of Life was no threat to Adam.
Adam had a choice, to either follow his own desire or God's, to either trust God's word and live, or to allow another voice (temptation) to enter into him that will cause him to lose his life. The rest is history, because on the day that Adam chose to partake of the fruit from the forbiden tree, his body began to decay, he started to get old, and eventually died.
THE JUST SHALL LIVE BY FAITH
Gal 3:19 Wherefore then serveth the law? It was added because of transgressions, till the seed should come to whom the promise was made; and it was ordained by angels in the hand of a mediator.
Gal 3:24 Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith. 25 But after that faith is come, we are no longer under a schoolmaster. 26 For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus. 27 For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ. 28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus. 29 And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise.
The law is not done away with, it is there for the lawless ones (those who still sin), not for us who are under Christ through faith. Our schoolmaster is not the law, but God's Word through the faith Jesus gave us.
When we love God with all our heart, mind and soul, have complete faith in God's Word by keeping His ways, love one another by treating everyone as our equals, forgive those who treat us unjustly by wishing them no harm, and love truth instead of lies, then our concience is clear and we no longer required to be under the law.
Gal 3:11 But that no man is justified by the law in the sight of God, it is evident: for, The just shall live by faith.
Rom 10:17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
