Question About 'Lying'

My question to Michael about “lying”

Is it ok if we lie in some situations in order to protect someone? I will give you two examples below:

1. During Hitler's time, a Christian family hid in their home a Jewish family. Hitler's soldiers, while searching all houses for Jews, went in the home of this Christian family and asked them if any Jews were living in the house and the Christian family had to lie and say "no" in order to protect them. Did they do wrong by lying in order to try to save the Jewish Family?

2. I was giving medicine to my 5 year old son and was secretly putting it in his milk because I had a hard time making him drink it. When he asked me if I put his medicine in his milk (because it tasted funny) I had to lie and say "I did not" because that was the only way I could give it to him. Did I do wrong by having to lie to him so he could take his medicine?

These two examples above have been puzzling me for a long time and I though you might be able to give me your thoughts about them. I would greatly appreciate it.

I know that trying to save the life of someone, or even our own, in a difficult or dangerous situation is great, but only Father can save our souls. Knowing this, is it still wrong to lie in order to save someone’s flesh?

Michael’s response:

I know that people lie for "good reasons" but this is the nature of man. Lying is unnecessary for those who know God, for nothing can happen that does not come from Him.

I will tell you another story. There was a Christian family who had a trap door under their kitchen table. A rug was over it so that it was not immediately recognized as a trap door. The family had hidden Jews under the table when the Nazis came to question them about it. They asked one of the women present if there were any Jews in the house. The woman said, "under the table." The Nazi officer looked, became offended and stomped out of the house, because he did not see any Jews under the table, and he thought he was being made fun of. The Christian simply could not lie about it, and God protected her and the Jews because of it.

In regard to lying about medicine, this has several factors. Most medicine made for man is very bad for him. The Father works on agreement, and if something is wrong, he allows disagreement in order to have people stop and look. Your child may have been telling you, This is not good for me, please spare me. You believed it was good, since someone told you it was, so you deceived your child to make him take what you believed was good for him, but may very well been very bad for him.

There are natural healers that are not offensive to the mouth. Man's healing remedies are often poison, and one must get used to them. When one seeks healing, he should always go to God, and He will tell him what to do for any infirmity.

I remember a time when I was feeling very weak, even thinking I was going to die. I had felt this way for three days. I was sitting in my chair with friends around, and the Father told me to eat an onion sandwich. I asked for an onion sandwich and within 20 seconds after eating it, all weakness had left me and I was completely restored to strength. If I had gone to a doctor, I would have probably died, for all they would have prescribed would have been poison.

Michael was right. Once, I had an accident and placed my complete trust in our heavenly Father and I was healed. Praise be to God!

Three years ago, in 2004, while I was mopping the bathroom floor, I slipped and fell backwards and hit my head hard in the corner of the bathroom sink. I did not panic, I got up right away and started to finish moping the bathroom floor. When I was done, I poured Hydrogen Peroxide on my head and took a shower. I did not even go to the emergency room, even though my head was bleeding and pus was coming out of it. I remembered Michael’s words that I posted here, and placed my complete trust in our heavenly Father. A week later my head was healed. Praise be to God!!!

Psa 34:19 Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the LORD delivereth him out of them all. 20 He keepeth all his bones: not one of them is broken. 21 Evil shall slay the wicked: and they that hate the righteous shall be desolate. 22 The LORD redeemeth the soul of his servants: and none of them that trust in him shall be desolate.
